Location is great - next door to Playhouse and just across the road from top of Princes Street. The staff were very polite and in particular the doorman Willie was very attentive. There is no restaurant. Hotel is really a luxurious bed and breakfast, with room service add on. |

Lovely bottle of Champagne on arrival, relaxing melodies throughout the hotel, gorgeous scenic views, and hot as heated tiled bathroom floor!! Small slippers for huge man feet and soft bitter apples! |

The staff were very attentive and our room was very comfortable - loved the bathrobes and slippers! Our room was to the front and was rather noisy with people standing outside late at night and from traffic noise in the morning. |

Hotel very nice and staff very attentive. Close to centre. very relaxing and breakfast was very good Only problem was air conditioning which we could not switch off and came on approx every 30 minutes; it was noisy. When we did get it switched off in room the unit in the bathroom continued to run; itr also was noisy. |

Staff extremely friendly, nice touch being shown to your room and for the first time in a long time staying in hotels worldwide being shown where everything was and how it worked, especially AC/heating. Excellent ambiance throughout hotel and hotel is bigger internally than it looks from outside. Close to shops and sights of Edinburgh, good base for tourists who have money. Why do hotels persist in providing pillows which are hopelessly soft and uncomfortable to sleep with and offer no alternative. Downside is parking which there is not but for people who know Edinburgh this is expected. Discount from NCP Car Park next door which was welcome, however hotel should advise guests in advance not to park on level which does not allow overnight parking. Again, pet hate paying for an Executive Room and then expected to pay for Breakfast in addition. Come on guys!!!! |

Brilliant front of house staff - always ready to help and a warm smile. Having a Scotsman (lovely man who braves all weathers in a long coat and hat) who rushes to help you with your luggage, open doors, greet you every time you come and go - makes a difference! I also like the card that says 'Dr. Allen in in residence in the Glasshouse'. It's the little things that mak it a great stay. Last visit the reception member of staff noticed i was poorly, suggested a hot toddy and even remembered to ask how I was the next day - very good indeed. |

The attention to detail was great without being stuffy. The location was excellent and the room was classy. The bed was 2 singles and not a double. Not what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel and this price. The TV was old and the controller a bit rubbish. The door to the balcony was a chore to open and took some time to figure out. |

Excellent staff - always friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast. good location. Hotel lacks a substantial reception area. Decor - eg colours of carpets - is eccentric! |

Being greeted by the very charming Scottish concierge wearing the trilby who added a very nice touch to the lobby. The lack of parking is inconvenient as I stayed in the Howard last time I was in Edinburgh and they actually have a parking service and their own car park. The lack of a connection between the Omni Centre and the hotel should also be considered. The fact that having driven miles, the fact that you have to leave your car, check in, then drive the car around to park then walk all the way back to the hotel is certainly not the beginning of a relaxing time nor a welcoming way to arrive at a 'luxury' hotel! It rained the two nights I was there and having to use the car during the day meant I returned to the hotel soaked every time. The two solutions I would offer is to either offer a parking service or to connect the hotel to the Omni Centre. |
