Everything. We were given a rooftop garden room which affords great views over Calton Hill and towards the sea. The beds are very luxurious. The hotel is near all the main shopping and attractions. The honesty bar is great and reflects well on the hotel. Breakfast was right out of the top drawer. 1st class break. |

Location is excellant,the staff are very professional.Room service was excellant.We compalined about the cleanliness of the room and we were upgrade to a suite... Our 1st room was cobwebed and dusty,with a strange splat mark on the wall.......the heater was noisey and the tv remote was broken...I Was not impressed at all.....the wireless internet access was expensive.£6 Per hour... |

lovely room with a patio on to the roof garden the reason i put only good on the room cleanliness is that there was a massive cobweb on the wooden area at the back of the bed |

The friendliness and helpfullness of the reception staff. The balcony to the room. The breaskfast and service during breakfast was poor compared to the previous evening - I was told that there was no French Mustard, but if I wanted another type I needed to 'go over there and get it'. I also found the over exhuberant door man a bit much after a long time travelling. But his intentions were genuine and he was helpful. |

The hotel was fantastic and modern, huge comfy bed, well stocked mini-bar, a rooftop terrace, excellent bathroom, and the breakfast was great. We were upgraded to a suite and each suite is named after a malt whisky, and there was a small jug of that whisky (MacAllan in our case) waiting for us. Magic! |

The rooms were stunning. Very clean, beautifully decorated. Loved the whisky (could have topped it up every day?) We had a room onto the roof garden, which was at times noisy due to other guests (it would be good to remind othe guests that there are people sleeping right there). Great location. Very central, easy access. I thought it would have been better if the staff at the check-in and the doorman had better local knowledge. They were really not able to advise on much. And seemed reluctant to get involved in making reservations - which is very unusual for a 5 star hotel (and in fact did not happen anywhere else where we stayed in Scotland). The efficiency and friendliness of the staff, first class like the hotel. The location is ideal if you plan to do a spot of sight seeing in Edinburgh with the added bonus of coming back to a 5 star hotel. |
