Staff are rude. No lift no help with cases. No bar and breakfast was up the hill in another hotel. Wifi didn't work. No clean towels and the ones we we're given had holes in. Room was tiny. Very noisy. Shower didn't work properly. I suffer from a bad hip and Asked to be moved to different room and was told NO. Only stayed 2nights out of our 5. Was told we had to pay for all 5 nights. My daughter in law found us a lovely room in the empress hotel for the duration of our break. Wouldn't recommend glen mona. My son comes to the island every year for the rally and he's appalled at the treatment we where shown. I will be contacting booking.com for a refund on some of the cost of the hotel.

Breakfast kipper was fab! and the stay was very cheap, great value

The check in process is a bit strange - Glen Mona doesn't appear to be staffed, you have to go up to HQ bar. which is fine, but it could all be explained a bit better.

The Glen Mona is one of three small guest houses run by HQ. You had to go up the street to the HQ restaurant to check in - not a problem. The location in Douglas is good. HQ offered a good, varied breakfast menu and ran a nice small pub. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful (I needed an iron, they found one), and the hotel offers free WiFi — a big plus when traveling (in many places that claim to have free WiFi, Manx Telecom charges £1 a day).

The yahoos in the room next door who came home drunk two nights (early mornings) in a row, shouting, laughing and slamming doors. Something to anticipate when you're staying in more economical lodgings, unfortunately.

Buffet style breakfast (with extra choices e.g. Kippers/Haddock) meaning you had real choice and could take as little or as much as you liked. Electronic door locks, so I could come & go just as I pleased. Coffee making facilities that were replenished every day.

Lack of parking adjacent to property, having to climb 6 flights of stairs to my room!

    1. excellent staff 2. excellent accommodation - I had an executive suite for an ordinary price with a king size bed, a comfy sofa and working desk. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi and shower which were all in immaculate condition. 3. Ample supplies of coffee and tea which were refilled daily 4. Clean towels and toiletries replenished daily 5. Wholesome Full English breakfast just a few yards away.

    Nothing.

Our room was very comfortable with hot water on demand and excellent showering and washing facilities. Top quality breakfast.

The four flights of stairs, but then I am 70-years old.

Fantastic staff - very friendly and accommodating. Location - just off the promenade - you pay significantly less than hotels on the front, but you're less than 50m walk away.

5.30 am pigeon wake up - a very hard problem to solve but I know I wasn't the only one disturbed by them.

Comfortable & friendly, not luxury but good value. Excellent breakfast too!

Room keys need to be picked up from sister hotel, however this is only seconds away. I would have been better to know in advance though!

    Staff friendly

    1. Bedroom at top of building should be a store room it was so small and felt like a guest room in the 1960'S. 2. Bedroom was so high up in the building that internet connection was very poor. 3. Leaving the hotel to go another hotel for breakfast especially when raining - which it was most of the days! 4. Quilt covers and pillow cases that are passed the sell by date 5. Cooing pigeons early hours of the morning as the room was so high

Nice clean and well equipped room, lovely complimentary toiletries and tea/coffee/biscuits etc. Had an executive room which was fairly large with jacuzzi bath. Good value for the price. Close to sea front and not too far from shops.

Lots of quite steep stairs and no lift. Rooms in a different building from bar and dining room. Very difficult to park in surrounding streets.

liked the location the room was very comfortable but very small

didnt like the room far to small would compare it to a box sized room with a double bed put in no where to sit and relax in it. the view from the window was of a building with rooms as well no more than 8 feet away which made the room look dark.

I found the room very comfortable, the staff friendly and the breakfast buffet was very good. The location just off the main Promenade in a side street meant very little traffic noise and a good night sleep was had.
