It was convenient location and accomodation was clean and comfortable. I found it difficult to carry the luggage to and from rooms due to lack of lift and narrow corridors.

The Glen Mona hotel was comfortable, clean and close to everything. We were met on our arrival, handed a key and told where our room was. It was on the 3rd floor up through 3 flights of narrow stairways, 35 steps to be exact. It was ok for us as we are still quite young and fit but I felt sorry for the older people staying doing those steps everytime they came and went and carrying their luggage. We had to go a few doors up for breakfast and while at breakfast we were never asked how we were enjoying our stay at the hotel or given any information on the area or what to see and visit. The breakfast was very nice, but I think a little bit of appreciation for our custom would'nt go a miss! When leaving we just left our key on the hall table, nobody there to say goodbye and thank you. It was 28 years years since we were in the Isle of man on our honeymoon, the place has'nt changed very much and who knows we may return again some day!

Made very welcome. Enjoyed the associated hq bar/restaurant during the evenings. A good atmosphere and friendly staff. Building work was ongoing and although the contractors were amiable and endevoured to keep the place tidy it is difficult to effectively control dust and noise. This is an observation rather than an issue.

Room and en-suite bathroom OK. Food OK although meals taken in nearby hotel Building work on ground floor not mentioned when booking. Building work very intrusive, especially for Room 4. Parking difficult due to skip and vans of builders. £90 per night expensive given conditions. Reduction requested but refused. Stairs narrow and steep,

Good location right on the promenade, excellent breakfast Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from the neighboring rooms, which can be a problem if you're a light sleeper

The room was of a higher standard than expected. The owner/manager was very pleasant and helpful and was a model of politeness and calm even with difficult guests, which my companion and I were not! The hotel was near the beach and near the sister hotel where we went to eat. The food was very good indeed. The hotel was in the process of being upgraded/decorated and there was a smell of paint but that was not too unpleasant. I would have like to have been in a hotel with dining facilities in the same building but the quality of the food was such that we did not really mind the short walk.

The friendliness of the staff. Good value for money. I don't like TV in the bar/restaurant, biut other guests clearly did. I needed to work in the room and the desk is much too high for the chair.

Well this was my first business trip to isle of mann. My expectations were not very high. Well first of all your probaly thinking that some one who knows the manager of the hotel has written this or it's not a true statement, let me tell you this is all true...... For fifty pound what some people will call a b&b and know way 4 star are so wrong it was all of the 4 star stated the room was clean nice decor, it was just perfect put a big smile on my face as I walked in. The food I can not comment on as I am not a early riser. But as I walked to the hotel to pay my bill the people eating looked happy enough. Very very good

I stayed here for 4 nights and I found the staff very friendly, food very nice and good portions (at HQ bar 2 doors down is where the restaurant is for Glen Mona). My room was very spacious, clean, had great views and good facilities. Infact the room was much better than some of the 4* hotels I recently stayed at. Great choice The wifi was a bit weak in my room and so my connection was slow.

“I liked the brightness of the foyer with the bar and rest areas on both sides, giving the hotel a relaxed but still formal atmosphere. The room I stayed in was perfect for a one night business stay, couldn't ask for more, and the price included breakfast. Good value for money.” Ian, Runcorn |
