In Raglan Village, this 16th-century inn is close to the medieval castle, between Usk and the Wye Valley, well placed for the A40. It offers AA-Rosette dining, good wines, real ales and free internet....
Score from 89 reviews Very good
It was a stopover night that turned into a real treat. Of note, the staff were excellent, very attentive and efficient. The food is very good and the restaurant manager is extremely helpful with alternative suggestions. Rooms are really comfortable, clean and nicely equipped.
the room and bathroom; breakfast; service - all first class (we didn't have any other meals). Ample parking.
this place is amazing
nothing at all it took us 9 hours to drive there but well worth it
The hotel was quiet, clean and warm. The bedroom was adequate and en suite fine. Considering that two weddings were held at thehotel on the weekend there was no inconvienence to our stay. No noise that kept you awake at night.
The head waiter was a bit OTT, kept saying 'Madame / Sir'. Feel only requires this to be said once. Other than that all was fine.
My wife and I booked a one night's stay at the hotel because we were taking my great-grandfather's Eisteddfod Chair to Pontypool Museum. Initially, we simply wanted a room for the night on Friday evening and weren't particularly looking for luxury but the details on the website made the hotel look particularly attractive. And we weren't disappointed. It was well worth what we paid; was in very easy reach of Usk and proved to be ideal for dinner - so much so that we invited my cousin and his wife to join us. And breakfast on Saturday morning was excellent! Didn't eat again until we got back to London!
Not a dislike as such but we felt that one of the waiting staff, who was clearly new and being trained, needed a little more guidance.
The staff were so friendly and made you feel as if you were a regular even your first visit. Nothing was too much trouble. Really lovely people. Food was good, no complaints at all.
All very Nice Stay will go again
Difficult to regulate the shower, either scolding hot or cold.
Excellent restaurant, good food and service
Some of the bedroom furniture needed updating
First impressions - a lovely spot and an attractive building and gardens. Friendly efficient welcome at reception. Comfortable room with tasteful furnishing with a nice shower - all clean and fresh. Excellent restaurant for dinner and for breakfast and all staff were friendly and efficient. Couldn't ask for more from a country hotel.
Food was absolutely superb. Beautiful gardens and plenty of parking.
Nothing to dislike.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. I arrived late for check in and my room service arrived just minutes after I got to my room. Would definitely use the hotel again if I travel to that area. A great place.
The location and professionalism of the staff.
Not being able to go out for a run at 6am as the front door was locked.
Old world charm and friendly staff
Easily accessed, pleasant surroundings, helpful staff. would recommend this hotel to others.
Friendly helpful staff.
Overall service was great ,staff were amazing will definatly stay there again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. Staff very friendly and professional, every need met or exceeded. Clean and comfortable room and surroundings. Restaurant exceptional.
Wonderful food, very comfortable room
The bathroom door squeaked on its hinges - disturbing in the night. They were going to attend to it. A minor point.
we were updated to a suite as it was our ruby wedding anniversary free of charge,we also upgraded to db&b & the food was excellant for the price of upgrade
i didnt think very much of the reception when we arrived to book in they could have been more greeting than just showing us to the room ,i also think they should have told us we had been upgraded to a suit f.o.c
There was a noise in my room and the gentleman on duty was very helpful and attentive and moved my room so that I could get a good nights sleep. The facilities were very good, comfortable and quite
Very fine 3-4 star hotel in the countryside, 40 minutes from Bristol. Gracious and professional service from top to bottom. No request a chore. Good F & B at value for money prices. Scenic walks from the front door and dogs are allowed. Will recommend and return.
