Location near the centre of the town Lovely bed Decent size room Allocation of a room not on the top floor Best breakfast in a B&B stay Pet friendly No screaming kids
Very cosy bed, excellent location, lovely owners, yummy breakfast
Great hospitality Pet Friendly (even made him a sausage for breakfast!) Very comfy rooms Location is great to all Whitby attractions, pubs and restaurants.
The ONLY thing that I could think to change would be the position of the mirror in Room 1. The hair dryer lead isn't long enough to reach the mirror so you can't see to dry your hair? Luckily I had actually taken my own so I could plug in elsewhere.
Mum and Dad were very happy with the stay. The owners went the extra mile to make them feel welcome. They especially liked the breakfast.
They had no negative comments. Overall very happy.
Friendly and welcoming. Good location.
The bed was getting a bit old but comfy enough. I'm just a fussy sleeper.
The owners of the hotel where very friendly and made you feel welcome. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice. In all a great weekend
When I booked the rooms I was led to believe that the single room had an adjoining bathroom when in actual fact it was 3 flights of stairs, to a mezzanine floor away. There wasn't room for a bedside table, just a let down shelf which had to be put up before the door could be opened.
Nice quiet location. Just a short cab ride from the Railway Station. Nice walk just along the street to the cliff tops, nice gardens and the pavilion (where they show movies, although we didn't go). Then a walk down to Captain Cook statue and down the steps to the quayside and lots of shops and little pubs and back to the Railway Station. Walked back up the hill, slowly, and stopped at a pub for dinner - all very nice. We also caught the 'hop-on, hop-off' bus and rode to the old Abbey. Very interesting area. Couldn't go inside St. Mary's Church as there was a funeral. Lots of graves and unreadable headstones. Then down the steps and more old shops etc and visited the Captain Cook Museum. Very enjoyable 2 nights in Whitby. Hadn't been there for about 40 years - last time on a rugby trip from London and don't recall the Abbey.
Nice and friendly and breakfast was lovely
good location only a 5 min walk into town or 2 mins to the cliff...breakfast is plentyful and wholesome great food, i would stay there again, great happy atmosphere..good on you Mick and Carol...
provided everything we required.
The B&B is situated within a 5 minute walk of the sea front and within a 10 minute walk of the harbour, shops and restaurants. The ruined abbey could be seen from our bedroom window. The owners were friendly and helpful, the room and en suite were of reasonable size whilst the breakfasts were plentiful and perfectly cooked. The B&B is advertised as having free, private parking but only has 2 spaces availble. However, the scratch card provided by the owner only cost 50 pence and entitled us to park for the duration of our stay outside the house and also in a number of locations within Whitby town centre. We would definitely stay again.
Breakfast had to be ordered the previous evening and was served within a half hour window between 8.30am and 9.00am. A lot of stairs to be climbed if you are on the 2nd or 3rd floor.
Warm, clean and homely accommodation. Friendly owners. Superb, full English, breakfasts.
Room very clean and comfortable, breakfast very good and plenty of it. Nice stay
Having one knee replaced and another one due the room at the top is not recommended for us poorly folk. Their Webb site dose make this clear though, so next time I will ask for a room lower down.
lovely welcoming couple, well maintained and nicely presented accommodation. Very good quality breakfast, cooked well and good choice.
We were made very welcome, the accommodation was excellent and the breakfast the best we have ever had. The view from the room over to the abbey was stunning and the bed very comfortable. Glendale House is to be highly recommended.
Very close to the harbour. Amazing view of Abbey from window. Friendly staff Free Parking Good Breakfast Comfortable beds.
The owners gave us a warm welcome, excellent breakfast and service. Nothing was too much trouble and tea/coffee facilities available in the room. We were provided with a four day parking permit at a 50p cost. Good value for money stay.
No complaints, I would recommend this guest house.
excellent, comfortable from arrival and breakfast second to none
Food excellent Owner very friendly and helpful Good hot shower (although a little tight)
Carpet Non linen sheets ( but in fairness where would you get linen in a hotel)
Lovely bed and breakfast,
Mick and Carol could not do enough for you A++++++ a credit to B&bs
Loved the room it was clean fresh well decorated massive comfy bed. The owners were friendly and welcoming . Breakfast ordering system worked very well no waiting involved. We stayed in room 6 and had a great view of the abbey . Would recommend the Dracula walk passage to India restaurant and magpie cafe.
Was nothing not to like.
The breakfast was very good and the owners very friendly.
We stayed in room number 1 which is a bit cramped, we couldn't look out of the window as it is frosted glass. The shower is very awkward to get in and out of and no control of the power of water.
The landlady was very welcoming and had everything ready early for us. Room was nice and spotless clean
The location was up bank from town but was within easy walking distance
