The position was very convenient. Great view of woodland from room. Breakfast cooked to order was tasty. Free upgrade to double room. Room well furnished; bed comfortable; hot water in few seconds in shower and washbasin
Couldn't get wifi in my 2nd floor room and had to go down to restaurant
Staff carried my bag to top floor. Staff brought lunch to my room. Bed was very comfortable. Room was clean.
The bedroom door did not lock from the inside so i had to block the door with the bathroom door for security. The room was in the roof of building so was extremely hot. The bathroom was extremely cramped.
Nice size room, good area to be based at. Great restraunt
TV signal very poor not many channels worked
Close to all amenities Breakfast was very good
Climbing three flights of stairs Breakfast service was very slow Internet on 3rd floor was no use Music in restaurant was too loud
location was great for me
they had the window wide open when i went in but went i shut it the smell of drains/ smell water grew not nice guys
Room. clean. bed .hot water.
everything about the hotel was fantastic
The hotel itself is a little tired, but they have tried to update the look in the room with modern fixtures and fittings. But as we were only there for the one night it wasn't bad for the money.
the two members of staff we came across weren't particularly welcoming with no-one at reception to even check us in.
Made to feel welcome, good breakfast and good value for money
Room are a big tired but that wasn't a big problem.
Reasonably comfortable bed and a decent breakfast.
Could not open drawers to chest. Damaged sink and room lights did not operate at first. Routine maintenance would improve things.
Hosts were warm, friendly & organized. Our room had a great sea view and was clean & tidy on arrival. Will definitely recommend to fellow travelers!
The WiFi access was intermittent throughout the night which made web surfing a little bit frustrating.
Decor was nice.
The location and proximity to public transport. The breakfast was also good
The noise from the bar went on quite late
Pleasant and courteous staff, small room but clean and comfortable, very good breakfast included in the price - not buffet style, individually cooked. Popular restaurant downstairs - Villa Napoli, (or Luigi's as it was known in Gavin and Stacey!) Easy to park, convenient for public transport into Cardiff. Decent value as an alternative to staying in the city with some good bars in the area.
Nothing really. But everyone who is thinking about staying here should bear in mind that this is an old style traditional hotel, -staircases, small rooms, thin walls, no air con etc. If you are insistent on the comforts and conveniences of the Holiday/Premier Inns of this world then you may not enjoy staying here.
Staff were excellent. Food was well cooked, hot and cooked to order. Sheets and towels clean and crisp.
Bathroom down the hall. Windows didn't open and was a very hot couple of days. But staff did bring me up an air con unit.
Staff are helpful & friendly Location is excellent & not noisy Bed was comfortable.
Towels were not pristine clean. TV not working Room was small & hot
Convenient for public transport to Cardiff. Excellent food.
bedroom windows could not be opened. Dining room lighting too subdued. Bathroom very small.
Everything was OK, all we needed for a short stay. The breakfast was very good.
There where a couple of things that could have made our stay more pleasant. One we couldn't get any fresh air to the room as there was no ventilation and the windows did not open, two the on suite was very small and for a larger person was habit of a struggle.
GOOD ACCESS TO THE BAY
Staff were friendly and efficient. Food within hotel was good but wine expensive. Only negative is that a new shower curtain was required.
Shower curtain and price of wine.
The Glendale was perfect for my 2 day stay as I was visiting my home town for a family funeral. Very close to the railway station, the town & easy access to the beautiful Alexandra Gardens & promenade. The staff were very friendly & courteous. My room was very spacious, clean & comfortable with coffee & tea making facilities, hairdryer, ironing board & iron. Breakfast was very good accommodating your personal preferences. I cannot fault this hotel.
Friendly staff keen to please
accommodation tired, especially bathroom facilities. also asked for quiet room and put on top floor facing street with noiy pub across the road.
the size of the room, the staff, the decor, and especially the restaurant food.
Asked for few stairs quiet room - got 2nd floor front room, nearly killed us 2 replacement knees on my husband cancer for me! The bathroom had a wooden bath mat way too big for the space so my husband lifted it. It seemed that he was the 1st to do so for a while. The young man quickly rectified the problem but that put my husband on a "dirt search" which he found enough to incense him. The carpet also left a lot to be desired. A real shame in an otherwise good place .
