the price, the location

The en-suite shower, toilet and basin were ridiculously small. The toilet & basin are in the space you would normally stand in in front of the shower. You have to climb over the toilet (literally!) to get to the shower. There will be accidents as people try this manoeuvre with wet feet. Unless you are a child you will need to use the toilet at right angles with your knees out of tthe door.

Location was perfect for us, the staff were friendly

Just a few comments about the room, the single glazed window was broken, the double glazed window opens right over the bed, the bathroom was small but the position of the sink made it very difficult to use. A larger person or older person would find it very difficult. Also we found a night dress between the wall and the bed that must have been from a previous visitor

The surroundings, and the small distance to the lancaster gate subway station.

Quite a few things, yeah: The room was very dirty, walls were very stained, the room was incredibly small, so as the bathroom. No remote control for the tv. The carpet was quite dirty and the hot water kept running out while taking a shower. No in-room space for luggage.

Very dirty, very small sink in the bathroom for a family room, dirty shower, window next to place were hotel keep the rabish. I don't reccomand this hotel even if the price is good.Is better to give some more money and to have at least decent plaace to sleep.

The fact that it was near the town centre.

Toilets were extremely small. In fact, only usable with the door open. My biggest problem with this hotel is that it seems to have copied and pasted text from other hotels. The business centre for Internet access is really a small moth eaten table in the corner of the reception. It says it has a restaurant, but this is actually 2 small tables in the same reception area!! As for recently decorated?
