Glendale Hyde Park Hotel

Jeg var misfornøyd med hotellet. Fikk rom i 4. etasje og de siste to etg. var trappen veldig smal og dessuten merket som branntrapp ( det var eneste vei ned ) Rørene inne i veggen bråket noe forferdelig og det gikk ikke å sove. Det var frokostkø .( kun 4 tomannsbord) og vi måtte be om å få fyllt på mat når det var tomt. Kaffe ble traktet i rommet og den måtte vi og vente lenge på.

Hotellet ligger svært sentralt, med stort sett alt i gåavstand. Rommene var i minste laget, men rene og greie.

Gangene er veldig (!) smale, faktisk så smale at vi slet med å få bagasjen opp. Manglende heis, og mange trapper kan bli tungt, og kanskje umulig for noen. Aircondition på rommene (!), som er svært små, og som derfor fort blir varme.

Beliggenheten var bra.

Very friendly service, excellent value for money. The room was surprisingly roomy and was clean and comfortable. The excellent en-suite bathrom was quite luxurious and a welcome addition. All in all this was a great hotel that was excellently priced, located with a great room - and the staff were overall great too!

The bed coverings were far too small for the bed, whilst the kitchen diner was a very small and cramped room which had to cater for a far larger number of residents that it could hold. The kitchen diner was questionable in terms of service.

The hotel was dirty and run-down. We were given a room in the basement, with no window. The walls were so thin we could hear every word of the conversation the people next to us were having. The shower did not drain, leaving water all over the bathroom floor. The carpet was disgusting - there were hairballs around the edges of the bed. The bed was also dirty - I had to brush hair off of the sheets when we laid down to sleep.

In addition to the filthiness of the room, the staff was not helpful. The reason we took the basement room is because the other room available was on the third floor (no elevator) and they didn't offer to help us carry our heavy luggage up the stairs. We only stayed one night of our 3 night stay before moving to a much nicer hotel down the street. They charged us for the second night because we didn't check out earlier enough (we left well before check-out). They wouldn't even refund a partial amount of the second night because of the horrible condition the hotel was in. We weren't expecting The Ritz, but this was just unacceptable.

Great location, the room and bathroom are clean. I lived in a really small single room, not even enough space to open up the luggage. Good choice for travellers with tight budgets.

I asked for a wake-up service at 6:30am, but apparently the staff forgot to do that...

I didn't like that I paid for it twice. Apparently the fee I paid on priceline was the booking fee and not the actual rental fee, so they charged me an extra 40 pounds.

Friendly staff, very close to underground, quiet.

As mentionned on other posts their breakfast room is really tiny and you might have to wait. There is a hairdryer at the reception but only one (or a few) so you might have to wait until it returns or give up. The stairs are quite steep and we stayed at the 4th floor and there isn' a a lift... I ddin't think that was a problem since I had only a small backpack. The beds were done and towels changed but the bathroom was not cleaned during our stay. The room was tiny. barely fitted 2 single beds (thre was less than 30 cm between the beds). So that is just to be complete cause all together I would recommend the place.

Small rooms but very clean. Frendly stuff. Near to Hyde Park - Lancaster Gate.
