Was a good location in the area for shopping centre, clubs and leisure activities. Good breakfasts
Bad rooms Uncomfortable beds Not a good value for money
Very basic rooms , floor soaking wet in bedroom, no curtains at window and very noisey!!!
Friendly staff service value for what your paying for!
the shower was cold
Breakfast is served too late if you are working (starts 08.30) Staff not welcoming - I won't be going back
Location was ok,can't think of much else.
Cold breakfast, squeeky floor in room, had to ask for tea and coffee for our room every day, 1st day room wasn't made up for us,noisy neighbours(3am one night 4am the next) staff were not overly concerned, breakfast not served until 8:30am so on our last day we left before it was served and went to weatherspoons for our breakfast at 7am.
Old Hotel but clean and comfortable rooms great self service breakfast
needs some paint work in rooms
Comfy clean bed with excellent pillows.
Breakfast started good but became worse each day due to cold food hard eggs only one four slice toaster between too many guests. Cracked dangerous sink in en suite. Shower door didn't close properly. Curtain rail had no stoppers causing curtain to whiz off when pulled either way. Previous review said avoid room 18 we were in 18!
not great if u have walking difficulties
Clean and well looked after room. Perfect location for our reasons behind staying there. Friendly staff and pleasant experience.
Some of the plugs and light fittings hanging out and off of the wall.
The full English Breakfast was second to none, always being checked and topped up when needed. plenty of variety.
Problems with toilet, room very small, and no bar open in evening
Where shall I start, first inpression three legged chair and ripped sofa, wall paper hanging from walls on stairs, bathroom: stained shower and toilet, ceiling stained cracked and paint peeling, cobwebs in corner of ceiling and along ceiling line. And the most important thing an exposed electrical cable in bathroom. As being in construction I know that all cables in bathrooms should be set in walls not exposed. Bedroom: wardrobe leaned more than the tower of Pisa no back and it hid a cut away section of plasterboard where we could see the shower pipe work. Beds: two different height size single beds pushed together to make a double with made a very interesting night sleep. Tv had no signal. Windows didn't shut. Was woken at 3am by someone kicking in the next rooms door after letting it go a while we investigated to find your nite porter kicking in the door with four girls sitting on top of the stairs cause they lost there key after a while they got in room and as the walls are paper thin I heard there noise till gone 5am with no sleep. Breakfast was a free for all and the seating was a scene from a USA prison. No seating plan what so ever. Food was bland if you got any. This hotel is more suited for stag dos and hen dos NOT couples or family's. had you not taken my money five months previous I would had asked for a refund on the night stay.
The room was clean and the bed was good
We had a leak from the bath room up stairs from us leaking through out roof every time they used the shower. Hair dryer did not work. Breakfast was not great.
the hotel was clean and tidy with lovely rooms and a comfortable bed - the breakfast was good although only available for one hour during the morning and as we had to be at an appointment we were lucky to get any as had to leave hotel 15 minutes after it started 8:30 - 9:30. Good strong WIFI connection which was brill as last hotel we stayed in which was far more expensive offered this but told me it was not available in our room so was great to have what was offered here. The hotel was a reasonable price and was more than I would expect in this price bracket to be honest.
Parking was difficult with this hotel it was my fault as I booked it without checking the parking facilities but it was not in a great area of bournemouth surrounded by the international colleges so being disabled was difficult to find a space within walking distance of the hotel - also the first night we had some men talking and laughing in the street outside for a good hour at 5am who were very loud (sounded like they were in the room). The staff were friendly but were not often there we had to leave by 8:45 on one day and 9.15 on the following and there was no receptionist on either morning and breakfast although good was only available 8:30 to 9:30. Other than these two slight niggles which were no fault of the hotel really but worth mentioning just for others not to make the same mistake i made if parking is important to you and time is of the essence.
nice hotel just needed a bigger room
room was very small and noise from next door at 4am was very bad and loud due to dry wall dividing the room into 2 - quite disappointing really
there was no help to get pushchair in and out. Staff appeared put out by request for travel cot even though it was on the booking form. No hot water. TV did not work.
Its a good hotel, rooms are spaceous and clean. Like the breakfast and bar facility as well.
price, location, staff, breakfast.
the hinge on bedroom door was almast off making it difficult to close the door. no remote for the tv. shelf f hanging off wall. customer toilet in foyer, frankly disgusting.
This hotel was one of the few that offered three beds in the same room. This was perfect for our hen party weekend :) The beds were clean, the bathroom better than I expected and the room perfect for our needs. The hotel kindly provided extra towels which we needed for our long hair! The breakfast was good, I was especially pleased that they made the eggs fresh and kept bringing them out instead of leaving them to congeal as many places do. All in all a perfectly nice hotel that suited our needs.
Location close to the shops and beach. •Staff were friendly. •Room was clean and tidy. •Reasonably priced & good value for money.nice breakfast, proximity to beach and shops is worth considering.would happily stay here again.
The fact that re booking was cancelled a few weeks before our stay & we we rebooked into a hotel we did not like, but you keep asking us to review a stay that we never experienced through no fault of our own.
I like the very helpful staff
The rooms should be kept clean, tidy and nice smiling.
The rooms and the hotel environment were dirty and on kept.
Friendly helpful staff who tried hard to sort out the booking mix-up. Good breakfast
Booking mix up. Booked 10 singles via booking.com but ended up with 5 twins. Hotel said they had no record of our booking which was made 5 months in advance, Two other groups had a similar problem and couldn't be accommodated, There must be a problem with the hotel's booking and reservations software, Needs sorting quickly!! Overall hotel is very frayed at the edges and desperately needs investment, Ripped chairs in the reception and bar area an obvious example. Bedding was clean, as was ensuite but in Room 18 in which two of our party stayed the wash hand basin was very badly cracked. The reduction in price from £30 per room for the singles we thought we had booked to £45 per room for the twins was a welcome gesture from the hotel, £22.50 per night including breakfast is very good value, but therein lies the dilemma; the Glendevon can't justify higher prices because of the lack of facilities and general run down appearance but without the increased revenues higher prices would bring they can't make the improvements that this hotel so desperately needs.
