was close to the beach and also to the centre
the room it was the worst ** star in wich I have stayed.the matress was very soft.the lift was scary and the door from the room was very noisy when shut.
On top floor got stuck inlift. So would not use it again Wasn't told breakfast Ended at9 in the weekdays and should tell people that there R decorating the breakfast room
food was good/.bed was good/ price was good./ in all very good/ would go again.
I love the friendly service and the breakfast and the fact that it's close to the beach :)))
I didn't like how far the TV was and the size of the towel
Where to start: 1) Bed was lumpy and felt like it was going to give way 2) wall paper is peeling off the walls 3) furniture does not match 4) TV did not work 5) WiFi non-existent 6) no hot water in the sink tap (had to boil the kettle to be able to shave) 7) had to wait an hour at reception to report the lack of hot water. I asked the staff in the "Dinning Room" (yes, it was misspelt on the sign) and the response was "Sorry, I no speak English good". 8) Very noisy late at night throughout the hotel 9) People attempting to get into my room during the early hours of the morning 10) Radiator in the room had no dial to be able to turn the heat down. A very poor hotel all round - I've had more enjoyable stays in the middle of a windswept muddy field under canvas.
Room had all facilities needed, tea and coffee making, TV, working radiator, storage, en suite bathroom. It was clean enough. Good choices at breakfast. Not the Hilton but decent value for money.
Reception desk could be friendlier and manned more often
The buffet breakfast
Blankets inside the old thin worn , duvet covers. Bathroom very shabby
Good budget hotel. Can't expect too much for £40/night Double room. If your on a tight budget ok. If you want more than basics, pay more. Clean but no frills.
It was a very basic hotel but it was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the buffet breakfast was good. It also had a certain amount of character, reminiscent of holiday hotels from a bygone age. Crucially we had a good's sleep.
The wallpaper was peeling off in places and there was no remote for the tv.
I was staying at this hotel the night from 4/10/2014 - 5/10/2014 and I'd like to express the biggest disappointment in theservice! I payed more than 70 pounds, to realize that heater is not working in the room and we had to sleep in cold. There was also no hot water in the shower. And we had to ENJOY screaming drunk lads throwing themselves against doors in the middle of the night. That's the most horrible experience I've ever had. There was never anyone at the reception , so nobody cared to fix the heaters, water and calm down the drunk group. Sleepless night in the cold - that's all the impression this hotel left. I also wanted to speak with the reception personal in the morning, but there was nobody again. So we just left as were late for the bus. I wrote an email with complaint , but nobody cared to reply ever...
The location was the best part of the stay.
Quality if breakfast, but saying that I did only pay 40 pound to stay. No hairdryer.
Area For the amount we paid it was value
Room very hot window only opened 6 inches. Mattresses not comfy
Absolutely shocking customer service, my advice is steer clear! Looking at the other reviews, not staying here was my lucky escape shame about the unauthorised payment they have taken and I'm still fighting to get back.
The Hotel was very conveniently situated for the park, shops and promenade and was comfortable overall with polite and helpful staff. Full breakfast if wanted which was good. The hill from the promenade up to the hotel may be too steep for older people who are infirm. Convenient for the bus stops There is a pay car park on the next block and parking outside the hotel if you are lucky. The lad on reception was so helpful and always aimed to please
When we arrived we were put in an attic room with 6 flights of stairs to reach it. There was a lift but you could not always use it if the door had not been shut properly on another floor. It was our 50th Wedding Anniversary and our daughter on booking told them this and aked if we could have a nice room. The hotel was full that weekend but on the Monday we had to ask to be moved to a nicer, bigger room. This should have been done without having to ask but the lad on the desk was very helpful and gave us a lovely, spacious front room with a big bay window. We enjoyed the remainder of our stay much better than being in an attic room with so little space--and some floorboards missing--that one person had to sit down whilst the other got dressed----there was no space for two people to move together. We did then find we enjoyed our stay much better once we moved to the other room. It was lighter and with so much room---it even had a corner bath and shower---lovely!
If you enjoy cold showers, grimy paintwork and the sound of screaming guests throwing themselves against doors in the middle of the night, then this ghoulish and depressing nightmare, worthy of a hostel horror movie, may be the apex of indifference that you have been looking for. Good luck!
Nice large bright room, clean . Fantastic large corner bath with shower overhead. Good location , walking distance to shops and pubs and seafront Helpful staff and good breakfast. Will definetely stay here again and would recommend to others
Double bed was 2 singles put together and there was a height difference. Informed reception staff and they explained that beds are in the process of being replaced !! Happy Days
Location close to our venue.
Really bad smell of damp in the rooms from carpet cleaning. Complained to reception and asked for new room . Nothing done. Had to vacant room during the night and sleep in the car. Struggling to get refund from hotel manager (Mandy)
The room was so small you could hardly move. There room smelt really bad due to the water leakage down the wall which had mould on.
Breakfast was ok
Booked in January.day before had phone call to ask if they could change rooms said ok.minibus down another call change again.4 of us in 1 room now no mirror no where to hang clothes, and next to entrance so no sleep, staff apart from 1 lovely lady on reception very rude.we did get some money back after complaining so not all bad.
nice clean rooms with usual facilities, very good breakfast..helpful staff
no hotel parking
Good o/a value for money
Wash basin sink pipe partially blocked r23.You need a plumber.
This was the worst hotel ie ever stayed in the room was not what i booked the double bed we could not sleep on it creaked all the time we had to sleep in the single bed the breakfast was cold when i complaned they did not care
Can only say the price was fair £43/room for the 2 of us with a reasonable full English.had gone on spec and walked the streets in the area and this was about the cheapest, had to book it in the end has they had the required rooms we needed, if you want the savoy its across the road, if your on a small budget its good value.
Mattress was uncomfortable, dining room was a bit disorganised and decor a bit dated and need of a spruce up, however room was kept pretty clean with fresh towels daily.
