Good staff. Good size room. Great location. New carpet being laid while I was there! Room 15 does not have an opening window (other than a sliding patio door) or a view of anything other than a stone wall. This would be a big problem in Summer. The clothes drawers smelt of vomit and I could not leave any clothing in them. I would recommend the issue of a SatNav unit to guests so they can find their way to and from the rooms which are furthest away from reception. |

The hotel had a pleasant atmosphere with absolutely stunning views over Porth. The staff were polite and helpful. The food was good in the restaurant and it had a fresh oceanic feel to it. The room was clean and modern. The hotel must have been refurbished a few years ago and it is now beginning to look tired - scuffed walls and stained seagrass flooring. The food in the hotel was very nice but we felt over priced for what it was. We felt in general that the room costs were expensive as the hotel is beginning to look a little shabby. |

The absolutely beautiful location. Our family stayed 3 years ago in an apartment, and fell in love with Porth Beach and the area then. The view from the Glendorgal dining room is wonderful. Which is why I was so disappointed in this visit to the hotel - worn carpets, chipped paint and short-staffed. At breakfast, the sausage was raw, the egg hard, and the wrong order arrived initially. On calling the hotel to reserve a table for dinner, I was twice re-routed to another phone, and told I could not book as Reception was too busy, I should call back. In the restaurant [not full] staff were over-stretched - we waited a long time for wine, main courses, and our starters which were forgotten and cooked in a hurry - then endured a lecture about how the chef 'hand cooked' everything, 'it isn't fast food, you know!' |

A beautiful place, with idyllic surroundings. Fantastic views, friendly staff and superbly cooked food. An ideal place to relax and unwind. There is no signage in reception directing you to the Restaurant/Brasserie so it is necessary to ask directions. |

The location was very good with a large safe bathing beach at Porth and good acces to the attractions of Cornwall. The sports facilities look good although not used on this visit. 1. Staff did not keep up with the clearance of tables resulting in undue waits for hotel guests and most importantly when tables were cleared for previous use the tables were not cleaned with a disinfectant spray cleaner. 2 The shower room in the bedroom had some floor tiles with missing grout thus allowing water from the shower to get into the underlying floor - result a poor smell in the room. 3 The bed could do with replacing as it made a loud squeeking noise with the slightest movement in the bed. |

Spent little time in the hotel. Was out enjoying Newquay and Cornwall Was rather dissappointed with the room. In the attic and only a velux window. So the "sea " view was only visible when standing with your head in the window. Even then it looked over the flat roof of the hotel extention. |

It was in a nice quiet location and had great views of the coastline but was still within easy reach of the town centre The lack of airconditioning in the rooms meant it was very hot at night during my stay |

Coastline position above a sandy beach, Lusty Glaze Beach with great views onto the beach Watergate Bay beyond. Gym, pool and sauna all good condition and quiet. Rooms comfortable. Would recommend to my friends as a good base on the outskirts of Newquay and will definitely be visiting again |

Good hotel comfortable good breakfast, excellent gym, pool and facilities, but we thought that the room price of 130 pounds/night was a touch expensive for the room we recieved. Good for young couples and walkable to city centre, excellent scenery and location, would definitely reccomend it |

Clean Hotel, Friendly and welcoming staff, fantastic location, lovely evening meals. Seems to be a lack of attention to detail. No shaver socket, no hotel guide in room, some confusion/delay at nearly every meal. Could be an outstanding hotel, just needs a little more TLC. |
