Great location, very nice public rooms, excellent food, good, friendly service.
2 flights of stairs to bedroom as there are no elevators
Excellent Location. Excellent Value for money. Nice castle feeling. Castle grounds are excellent. Nice big librarey and lounches. Breakfast and Dinner is also excellent.
May be a piano in the librarey, The parking area in front of the castle may be improved.
We picked this hotel for a one night stay whilst on a short tour of Scotland. The price was comparable with most of the other local hotels (near loch ness) so we booked after a quick check of the recent reviews. From the ruined castle you pass on the private drive, to the huge oak paneled entrance hall, we realised we hadn't booked a 'run of the mill' hotel. Lovely room. Friendly staff. Beautiful building!
Not a complaint. Just a word of advice. Check the menu before you decide to book an evening meal. Whilst it was not particularly to our tastes, it was a nice experience (very elegant dining room) and well cooked/presented. I would have preferred steak and chips though.
Location and surrounding area. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is gorgeous... like stepping back in time 100 years.
wonderful highland location with great food and ambiance
Staff attitudes,comfortable rooms.
Could only spare one night stay due to other commitments!
Friendly staff and the ambiance of the hotel..
Didn't book more nights
From entering the car park to leaving 4 days later everything was quality. The staff, rooms, meals, grounds and even the other guests were lovely. Best place I've ever stayed and we'll definitely be returning.
Not having longer to stay.
Welcoming log fire at reception. Sitting by the picture window with a single malt, watching the mist slide across the hills behind the loch. Friendly, attentive staff - good food. Views from the four-poster bedroom.
Old building with the comfort of a modern building. Felt like a home especially the real open fires.
Being an old building we had to climb 2 flights of stairs .
The service was first class and the historic building had been upgraded to modern requirements in a sympathetic manner. The high quality of everything was not reflected in the cost of our stay and the value for money was exceptional.
The historic building lacks an elevator but it was difficult to see how one could be installed without damaging the structure and beautifully proportioned interior of the building.
Friendly and helpful staff Beautiful setting Lovely comfortable room Excellent food
Everything, the scenery, the service, the food, the drink. Just beautiful.
Exceptional location close to the waters edge steeped in history. Facilities, staff and dining were excellent.
On the pricey side but worth it.
Location Great front-of-house staff Comfortable room Most of the food
Dining room staff were weak Some food was over-cooked Breakfast was least good of a week's trip through Scotland
The staff were excellent as was the restaurant. The room looked over the trees and was great to stay in.
Seems all rooms in Great Britain are a bit dusty. Being asthmatic this is always an issue. Be great if they could vacuum every day.
Everything - building, grounds, views, fabulous bathroom (Rm 16), wonderful furnishings, food out of this world, and such efficient and welcoming staff. Most impressive was the care we observed being given by the staff to an elderly gentleman with dementia - not often seen in chain hotels! The whole overnight experience was a real treat for us - the understated elegance and old- fashioned atmosphere was much appreciated. I never sleep well, but this was better than usual!
We stayed at the Glengarry Castle on our honeymoon in 1964 and returned 50 years later for our Golden Wedding. Everything about this hotel is excellent from the setting on Loch Oich to the meals abd service.
Reception staff were very helpful and friendly
The dining room felt a bit uncomfortable, like staff were not relaxed and portions were very small
Location near a loch
Staff very accommodating when we arrived late. Nice breakfast served very efficiently. Nice "country house" feel!
Not the most comfortable bed.
This Glengarry Castle Hotel is very good.
This Glengarry hotel is really good.I missent this reply for another hotel Dowans Hotel which was not good.
The hotel as a whole is great and the beauty of it's surroundings is beyond words, simply fantastic.
The room allotted to us is small and we could hardly sleep because it was so hot until the early hours when it got cooler.
