Glengarry Castle Hotel  

Staff were excellent especially the receptionist - couldnt be more pleasant.

The dinner - the menu did not go with the hotel, would have been happier to pay more for gourmet food.

Great location near the loch with large comfortable rooms and good old fashion table service in the dining room for both breakfast and dinner. Staff very helpful and friendly. All in a very relaxing environment.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights I wish it had been longer. The staff and food were excellent. They have a jetty and you can hire a row boat and fishing rods for a very reasonable price. Definitely stay again for longer. Free parking and plenty of it.

Having to leave!

Well designed very quiet bedrooms, generally the hotel conversion has kept all the features and style of the old building and this creates a great environment. Really good cuisine with a new menu every day, friendly and helpful staff, the environment seems to promote a very friendly atmosphere all round so evenings in the lounges can lead to chats with other guests

Very little except the reading lights, if the weather is poor or you are tired the lounges are fine for reading and playing games. However the level of lighting made it difficult to read when the outside natural light was poor. I can see that in early spring and Autumn guests should have decent reading lamps available. Low energy bulbs do not provide the white spectrum light that over 50's need to be able to read easily in artificial light. this was a problem late one evening in June

The hotel ticked all our boxes for our honeymoon, clean, classy with attentive staff; the location was perfect. We will be visiting again :)

Charming hotel with polite and friendly staff. Loved the old style bath in our room and large bedroom.

Television in our room needed upgrading.

Wonderful place in an outstanding location. Dinner was of the highest standard, quite the best of the whole holiday by a country mile.

An overall excellent experience

Pleasant, accomodating staff. Relaxed atmosphere with old world feel. Dinner was lovely. Nice entree selections which were of ample size.

Exotic location in a an old castle. Superb Breakfast and Dinner.

Lack of elevator

The rooms were comfortable and clean. Dinner was delicious. We ordered a four course meal and greatly enjoyed the fresh flavours and chocolate dessert. The staff were friendly and made us feel relaxed.

A few more signs to point us in the direction of the hotel would have been helpful.

Considering that our stay was for only one night, the highpoint was the food, dinner and breakfast, and the superior way both meals were served.

We have travelled quite extensively and have not found accommodation as good as Glengarry. Highly recommended.

Fabulous location - everything that a "classic" Scottish Castle Hotel should be.

Excellent location. Nice cosy feeling. Ideal to escape from the routine of a busy city. Highly recommended!!!

The lady on the reception, although very friendly was left alone, so there would be no assistance to luggages, if needed; as expected in a castle there is no room for lifts. Nicely secluded, but so isolated, that with no bar/pub in the premises makes it a little bit boring, when you are with friends. (they do call a pub,the fact that they have room service until 23:00)

The hotel is in such a wonderful location. The rooms are very comfortable, dining is intimate, food very good. A real luxurious experience
