Callander is a town surrounded by exceptional beauty but like a lot of towns has suffered from the pandemic and economic turmoil.
It needs you! Help Callander get back to a bustling tourist location. It is a place for all seasons.

Nice, very safe, well kept, small town with good shops & restaurants, not far from Stirling. Although Roman Camp Hotel is very secluded, it’s actually on the Main Street, on the banks of the river Teith.

Callander is a lovely little town with plenty of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, take-aways and walks. The fisheries are beautiful, plenty of benches to sit at and walks around it.
I had a fish supper from the Frying Dutchman which was superb, and the second night ate at The Riverside Inn which was equally as delicious. All very good prices.
The wine shops are lovely and little gifts shops and plenty of cafes.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful spot. Close to Callander but far away from anywhere. Fabulous walking in the area. Cottage was a very good size, well equipped, like a home from home. The weather kept me infront of the wood fire all day on one of the days but I didnt mind a bit. Stairs are steep if you have mobility issues (which I dont so I refuse to mention it in the 'what I didnt like' box!). So quiet, apart from the odd pheasant shouting. Lovely.
Fantastic place to stay. Very interesting history which the owners embrace with a lot of fascinating photos, decoration and memorabilia. Certainly a unique hotel. Lovely bar area full of character too. The owners were brilliant, helpful and very accommodating. Location completely central to Callander and free parking inside. Absolutely recommend staying here. If you like your hotel querky and unique you will love this place.
The staff at the Crags were extremely helpful and friendly and really could not do enough for us during our stay. The room we had was spacious and very clean with an outstanding view of the snow-covered Trossachs. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice, the homemade granola was a definite winner. Located in the centre of Callander the Hotel is in a prime location with lots of characterful charm. Would highly recommend.
The apartment is in a quiet alley right off the center of town. It is an extended attic including a seating area, kitchen, two bedrooms and two showers. It is very convenient and cozy. As a nice added touch, there were also board games, children's books, guidebooks and pamphlets (not advertisements), and the owners recommended bars with live music nearby.
Very Friendly and helpful Staff. Dinner was served in the bar area but, as its a sports bar type pub/hotel, my husband was delighted to be able to watch a football match while we ate. Curry was excellent. Breakfast was excellent, full Scottish and cooked just right. Room small but comfortable and we slept well. We would be happy stay again
This was one of the best places we stayed in during our Scotland visit. There was a nice table outside to sit outside and see the mountains. I highly recommend staying here. The hosts were so friendly and extremely accommodating. The breakfast was great and accommodated my vegetarian diet. The place was very clean.
If you're looking for the perfect base for exploring the Trossachs, this is it. The property is located in a lovely rural area on the edge of Callander. It is an easy stroll into the village and nearby walking trails. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. Tom and Angela were great hosts!
The very warm welcome from the hosts and were very helpful with information on the surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent. The location was perfect for walking the trails/hills around Callander. Nice local independent shops are worth a visit. Meals at The Crown Hotel were very good and reasonably priced.
Good situation in a pleasant town within reach of Stirling and Loch Lomond. There was no allotted parking space but we had no problem with finding a space close to the apartment. The apartment was very clean and well equipped for our stay. The shower was absolutely fabulous.
A lovely traditional house - so quiet and peaceful. Close to the Roman Camp hotel where we enjoyed dinner and afternoon tea.
Our host was very welcoming and we enjoyed tea and cake in the garden on arrival.
Close to the Bracklinn Falls - well worth visiting.
Even tho is called a hostel is more a hotel standard! For fourpeople we rendered a pod and a room and tehybqhere both amazing! View for the pod is beautiful and you have everything you need there. Very close to Callander City Centre so + for that as well
We recommend dining there for lunch and especially dinner!
We were in Scotland for two wks. Dinner at Colander Meadows was without question the best meal we had in Scotland. The place is very lovely! We highly recommend it!
Centrally located in Callander, this place is absolutely a charming guesthouse. Plaid carpet, highland coo decor, amazing breakfast and attentive hosts make this accommodation among the best I’ve ever stayed.
Comfortable, clean, warm and cosy room. Essential during a rather rainy stay in Callander. No problem drying off clothing!
Very nice staff. Pleasant bar and restaurant.
