The owner Eddy was very friendly and went out of his way to prepare a meal when we arrived at night and did so throughout our stay. The Glen Helen is listed as being at St. Johns although it is a fair distance especially if walking ,as I was.The meals were very good and were plentiful. The rooms were comfortable and clean although a lick of paint would improve the surrounds but the hotel is clean and I would certainly stay here again.

The location - after breakfast walk up the adjacent glen - very excellent. Evening meal was good value and well presented - and promptly served. A menu and standard appropriate for the hotel class. Same for breakfast. Funky shower with multiple spray attachments! Effective room heating Note - the accommodation has a 'wooden porta-cabin' feel about it - thin walls and etc. Not a problem for me however as it was a quiet night.

Location ideal for my business purpose, however, would also use the Inn for leisure location. Food quality was excellent and helpfulness of staff couldn't be faulted. Room was excellent ,very clean and nicely proportioned, although a little pricey. The overall experience compensated though. Will definitely be there again next year.

I waqs only breifly at Glen Helen Inn but I would recommend it. The service was excellent, the food good and the location lovely though I did not get the chance to explore it as my purpose there was for work in Peel.

Excellent location for touring the island. Very relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. Good restaurant with well presented food. Seemed a little understaffed with just two staff handling food service, reception and the bar. Sometimes difficult to get service without having to go and find staff. Rooms clean but very basic.

The Glen Helen is a excellent place for a relaxing break, positioned away from any hustle and bustle. Rooms are spacious ,modern and clean, We enjoyed excellent service, came down quite late for breakfast, however a full freshly cooked breakfast was supplied not with a shrug and a mutter but with a smile and welcoming good morning. We ate a first class dinner at the Glen Helen, the food is really good fresh and local, probably the best beef I've had in a year or two and sublimley cooked. We would stay again at the drop of a hat. The only point to note is during tt and Manx gp weeks the roads around Glen Helen become closed for the day so you need to be up and out early, unless you want to watch the races from what is a great vantage point.

Staff were freindly and helpfull. Food was good and hotel clean and in a beautiful setting. My problem with the hotel was the lack of soundproofing between rooms which meant that I was woken when people in adjacent rooms used the bathroom or were heavy snorers. Also Television reception was poor.

Location and quietness except for night when the wedding was on. WiFi did not work after first couple of days - router would not allocate an ip address. Tv picture broke up quite frequently. No lift, we had to carry our cases up and down an outside concrete staircase in the rain - at our age too! We were warned there was no lift, but you have asked what I didn't like and that was one item. My main dislike was the noise from the wedding party on the Saturday night, which we had not been warned about at the time of booking. I dislike not being told there may be a noisy party during my stay at the time of booking as I may choose not to book. Restaurant menu choices were not to my taste - I prefer 'simple' food.

Setting in Glen - wooded trees alongside river. Pub like Hotel on TT route with good pub type food with excellent seperate restaurant in grounds. Walking in area and lovely gardens. Staff very friendly and efficient. No reception, relied on bar staff to take to room. Building not very attractive but adequate. Room described as suite was small but adequate.

We did not have a key for the room. The previous occupants did not hand the key back and there was no spare. We had to find a member of staff to lock and unlock our room everytime we went in and out. Bit of a pain to say the least.
