Very quiet and the staff were very nice, very laid back but there when you want them.
Most front of house staff very pleasant Shower
Creaky bed Odd bathroom tap - soaked me when I turned it on!
Breakfast great, clean, tidy room, staff very accommodating. Overall a very good place and value for money
Wifi is only available in the lounge area. We had a person from Canada in our party and would have been more practicable for wifi elsewhere.
We have stayed here twice in the last two years while visiting family in the area and found the location ideal, all the staff and locals in the hotel bar were very friendly and very helpful, the whole experience is far more personal than larger hotels and will be our 1st choice in the future.
The wifi signal is in the reception area only and needs to be accessible in the rooms !!!
remodelled all over. looks and feels great. staff spectacular. stayed and extra night as it was peaceful and comfortable!
Hotel is locked when it is slow. Bar staff have to come across the building to open and relock door. A front door key would be handy. (But there is probably a reasonable explanation for this!)
Staff-very helpful Food-very good Location-perfect for me
Linens not changed for 4 days No internet in room
15 min simple drive to Glasgow airport.
The main door is locked at night, requiring you to ring the night duty staff if you want to get in or out. Thin walls; every movement next door and in the hall is audible. No deadbolt on room door. No internet in room. No pub, bar, restaurant, grocery within walking.
People food room
Being from the USA, I am used to getting clean linen at least every other day. To go four days with no "maid" service was a little strange for me. Is this usual? I do clean up after myself, but just wondering.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Enjoyed my evening down at their Bar. Meet the local people and had many a laugh. Bus service to Glasgow just out side the hotel. Bus stopped at local railway station to go down to the Seaside town in central west Scotland.
I stayed twice. Once on arrival in Glasgow and a week later the night prior to my return to the airport. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable room with new shower facilities. I liked the fact the hotel is slightly off the beaten track and in almost a country area. Only a seven pound taxi trip to the airport from hotel. Hotel staff set up the taxi for me and it was right on time.
Like another reviewer, I was not able to regulate the water temperature (only in the second room I stayed in). Ended up having to rinse my hair in the sink to avoid scalding myself. I did advise the staff of this.
Cleanliness could have been better
The breakfast was extremely good and value for money
closeness to near family at a time of bereavement.
Clean and tidy room, easy access and parking
There was a party in the bar downstairs with music playing so loud the room floor was vibrating until midnight.
Everything was just excellent - nice clean freshly renovated room, very comfortable bed, nice breakfast and friendly staff. Very good value for money.
No dislikes at all
Staff friendly and helpful. Night porter had my breakfast ready for me, I was leaving at 4.30.am and he couldn't have been friendlier. Hotel very clean and bed very comfortable.
My room was above the bar and the noise didn't stop until after midnight. I was getting up at 4am so didn't get any sleep at all.
Very nice clean room
Bed was fine, TV worked fine, bathroom was clean except for the major items see to left. Staff was friendly but a bit too relaxed about the various issues! I wasn't bitten by anything and didn't develop any rashes, so I guess it wasn't horrible.
Door wouldn't lock, no vending machine, no where to get a snack in terms of convenience stores, shower didn't work in the morning, no shampoo if it had, a used pair of women's panties in shower.
The bathroom seemed newly refurbished with a good shower and with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided.
The hotel hosted functions on both Friday and Saturday evenings with loud music that could easily be heard within the rooms. Had other reviews/hotel website mentioned this I would have been very unlikely to have booked. Note on the day of arrival (Friday) my family had been travelling from 5am and we were all desperate for sleep.
really enjoyable stay.
The only blemish were the guys staying next door at number 3 who were making a lot noise throughout the night & when they got up! This though was no fault of the Hotel
Staff provided an early continental breakfast for our departure. It was appreciated.
Room was very clean morning staff very helpful
No atmosphere in reception area not welcoming felt very cold and un freindly
excellent b/fast & reception staff. Room clean & tidy.
Big comfortable bed, responsive staff.
Lots of stairs and no lift, no bell staff to help with luggage, floors not as clean as I like, and shower temp could not be regulated (room 2).
