This traditional Scottish hotel has a quiet location on the Cateran Trail walking route. It has free parking, free Wi-Fi, rooms with private bathrooms and a cozy bar with good food, local real ales and a log fire. The Glenisla Hotel and restaurant is near Blairgowrie in the beautiful Angus Glens. The Glenisla was an old coaching inn and mixes original character with modern comforts. Each room is individually decorated and centrally heated. The rooms have tea/coffee, alarm clocks and hairdryers and private bathrooms. A full Scottish breakfast is served each day in the dining room. The guests' lounge has Freeview (digital cable) TV and the traditional bar has oak beams, real ales and whiskeys. We were not expecting too much from the stay as we had got the room at a very good price inclusive of breakfast. When we entered the hotel and our room we were surprised at the quality of the accommodation for the price and of the hotel itself. The owner was very friendly and asked us several times if everything was to our satisfaction and did we need anything. Our evening meal was delicious and could not be faulted in any way. Breakfast was of the same quality and the portions were more than adequate. The only fault if you could call it that was that the radiator in our room only warmed up along the bottom and not through the whole radiator, but there was a small oil filled radiator in our room so we were able to use that. But as we did not complain about it, it could not be rectified. A tv. In the room would also have been nice. But all in all a very pleasant stay and we would definitely use this hotel again, and we would recommend it to others also. As I have explained above about the faulty radiator there is no need to do so again. Maybe they will fix it now.

We stayed only one night in the hotel. We were walking the Catering Trail, so it was a nice and comfortable stay in the hotel. In the evening diner was okay, and the lunchpacket the next day during the walk was good. We were satisfied. Th only thing, there was no tv in the room, it was not a realy problem, but for the weather forcast it would be helpful.

It's a really nice hotel, and I feel so warm when we stayed there. Small room and bar, but very clean and feel comfortable. I like the food very much, and the cook is very lovely and kind as well.

Food was very good, bed was large and comfortable. Everywhere was clean. Food was expensive, bedroom was cold and no TV. The, as mentioned on the hotel description, Wifi throughout the hotel is not correct and the owner told me that it would only ever be available at the bar for a number of insurmountable technical reasons.

De ligging - rustig en stil. De hoteleigenaars en de plaatselijk bevolking zijn super vriendelijk. Geen overbodige luxe, maar alles wat je nodig hebt.Heel lekker eten door de hoteleigenaar=kok. Dus ook prima voor gezinnen met kinderen - geen drukke baan naast het hotel

I think the staff did an excellent job coping with no power and and a number of rather tired and hungry tgo walkers on thier Coast to Coast. Service was very good and the staff very helpfull
