From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the very friendly owners. The room was superb,up to date and very comfortable. It has an extremely well stocked whiskey bar and the owners know their stuff and are happy to introduce and recommend you to rarities you may not have tried. We stayed for New Years Eve, the special evenings menu was exceptional and the food was fantastic.Complimentry bubbly was served at midnight and celebrations went on to the wee hours a great evening. The following morning breakfast was held over later so as every one could have a lie in .. very thoughtful. And a great breakfast. Thoroughly recommend you stay here. There was nothing to dislike if we are in that neck of the woods again we shall re visit.

Although the hotel was very quiet on the night we stayed, the hostess really made us feel at home. Great location for visiting Loch Ness. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, no complaints.

I love this hotel and have stayed there twice in a 'Superior Room'. Situated half way down Loch Ness it is extremely convenient for sightseeing round the Loch as well as being only a short motoring distance from Fort William, Mallaig and the road to Skye. As a solo traveller I do not look for large anonymous establishments; here the dining room is intimate in size and the hotel itself has character and charm. In addition, the evening menu contained a vegetarian option which was much appreciated.

The hotel was easy to find and well positioned on our route (we were walking the Great Glen). The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom in our room was lovely. The hotel decor in the public rooms was tired and the food, while adequate, was not of a standard that the (high) room price led us to expect. Our room had an electric wall heater and we both felt that neither the room nor the hotel generally felt special enough to justify the price. Not good value for money.

Very clean, nicely upgraded bathroom and room facilities. No lounge or any place for guests use, outside bedroom which had no seating (pub too small with only f'ew tables/chairs, for this purpose), was the main drawback

The Gin & Tonics. Generally dirty and in bad repair. For us the worst aspect was the half full ash tray on the picnic bench just outside the front door. A horrid sight to welcome new guests and a horrible smell to greet the outside world on leaving. Hate it.

The staff were helpful, welcoming and went the extra mile to provide for our needs.Room was comfortable and clean with lovely bathroom. Best stay in this area we have done so far, would stay again. Lounge areas a little tired but comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere so ok. Surpised that a cooked breakfast was not availabe at 07.30 hours and only after 08.30, a little late really.

Staff were very friendly and good. Excellent breakfast. Hotel in great location for Great Glen way. The bed was quite small as was the tv - minor gripes but felt that £125 was on the high side as that is what I would expect to pay for a four star hotel.

We stayed in a King room which is in a separate block of 3 rooms. Room was lovely and it felt like you were actually in a cottage with the facilities of a hotel on hand. Great for smokers as you only had to step outside the door instead of traipsing through the hotel. Made us a plate of sandwiches one night for our room when we didn't want to have a full dinner. Problem with the window in our room was sorted out immediately. Housekeeping could be better. Not hoovered in the 5 days we were there and once the shower drain was cleaned out and the remnants left on the shower floor. Lighting to these rooms needs to be drastically improved. New owners had only been there 4 weeks so hopefully these items will be addressed. Generally, they were very helpful. Costs were a bit on the high side for the size of the room and facilities of the hotel. Food was the same in the restaurant on the two nights we had dinner there - change of menu would have been nice.

The staff were really pleasant and had a good sense of humour! The management had changed hands in the previous month, and the new owner had plenty of plans to improve what was already a really good service. The room was as described, and comfortable, the food was particularly good. All in all a very good stay.

It was a lovely hotel under new ownership, the family were really friendly & made you feel very welcome. The hotel had a very "Scottish" theme & was very clean & quaint. The food was very good. This hotel is great if you want a quiet break away from the rat race!!! Our only disappointment was the lack of evening entertainment. There was nothing to do other than sit in the very well stocked bar (we were told they had in the region of 150 different scotch whiskies!!!) or stay in yr room & watch telly!!

The staff from arrival to departure were absolutely fantastic. We arrived early on a horrible wet day and they went out of their way to get our room ready as quickly as possible. Everyone one there was friendly and helpful. Also, the food exceded our expectations. I have had a lot of british hotel food and usually leave dissapointed but every meal was delicious. The room was great and the spa bath a real treat. Couldn't have had a better stay and better start to our honeymoon

Evening meals were excellent Various serious aspects of housekeeper both inside and outside. Also lack of interest by staff when checking out as to how we felt about our stay which leaves us wondering if they did not want to hear anything negative possibly based on previous experiences.
