Glenville House  

Amazing breakfast for for a king to start each day off with a wide menu freshly cooked and local products as well as continental options to start, amazingly helpful staff who could not be keener to help, always at the ready with helpful hints, walk recommendations and extremely high levels of cleanliness. The room was gorgeous, perfectly decorated and thoughtful details such as mints on pillows added the personal touch to our stay.

V. Friendly proprietors, excellent cooked breakfast and extensive breakfast choice, great attention to detail and willingness to please, comfortable rooms. Good parking. Convenient for local facilities.WIll definitely return.

No dislikes - just to note that the central heating seemed to struggle slightly during an extremely cold spell.Our bed was very large and comfortable, but if being picky maybe an ordinary double would better suit the room size. Do note as well there is an extra charge for paying by credit card.

Craig and Lynne are really friendly. Craig remembered us from our last stay and was very attentive to our requirements. I asked for additional hot water with my tea at breakfast on the first day and didn't need to ask again as Craig remembered each breakfast. Room was nicely furnished with fantastic shower. And homemade biscuits on the tea tray which were replenished when eaten. These little details make all the difference!

The only thing that let things down was the poor sound quality of the telly in our room. When on it gave a horrid buzzing sound but it could also just have been bad signal.

Great welcome and friendliness throughout stay, bed big enough to get lost in, fantastic room, great food cooked to perfection, close to main resorts.

Upon arrival the hotel staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, having everything we could need. It was in a peaceful area allowing for relaxation.

I loved the size of the room, the view from my room, the heated towel rack and the complimentary tea service in room. The location from both Windemere & Bowness was great.

I would have preferred an option for a later breakfast and to store location after check out.

It could do with updating and decorating in the rooms. But the staff and breakfast made up for it.

Top of our requirements in a guest house is spacious, nicely presented room, comfortable bed with appropriate bedding, clean modern ensuite facilities, healthy and well cooked breakfast with plenty of choice, pleasant staff. All of these requirements were more than adequately provided. Will most definately stay here again.

Absolutely nothing to dislike about Glenville House. Would highly recommend to all ages and groups.

Lynne and Craig were very friendly and helpfull hosts,nothing to much trouble. Perfect location in between winderemere and bowness. We had room no 3 which was lovely. Nice big comfortable bed, great facilities , and very clean.Breakfast very good quality food, and lots of choice. Plenty to do within walking distance,great not to have to use car. Highly Recommended.

Stay was not long enough, beautiful area.

Excellent. Great hosts. Good location between Bowness and Windermere. Lovely room with nice touches (homemade biscuits!) Brilliant breakfast. Fab service. Clean. No complaints.

Only suggestion would be to have a longer slot for breakfast (there was only 1 hour) but understand this may be due to staff availability. Also, call Glenville for better prices than online because we weren't informed of this online.
