Very warm welcome, amazing value! The made to order breakfast in the morning was an absolute treat. Started off my very stressful morning right.
The price was the best thing about the glenwood hotel
The staff to old and set in there ways jam jars put out for breakfast with mould looked like strawberry jam had a fir jacket !!!
We have stayed at this hotel twice over the past few weeks, the staff were helpful and very pleasant, we got restful night sleeps the beds were comfortable, the hotel was quiet and yes there are misplaced families and individuals in the hotel and they too were pleasant. The breakfast was adequate and nicely cooked. The hotel is reasonably priced and yes if we ever need to return to Margate wewould stay here again. It is central to most places.
Margate has become very tired over the past few years and this Hotel has along with many others in the area. It needs investment and that's hard to come by.
The staff were very nice, especially the lady at breakfast and it was great value for money
There was a bug in my room and the bed was a bit creaky
Staff friendly and helpful, good location as close to beach and attractions
No information about Margate in the rooms.. a short list of attractions would be helpful and perhaps some eating options?.At breakfast a jar of half used jam on the table is not very hygienic, don't know who may have used it . Suggest sachets of jam. Overall good value and would stay there again
The breakfast was good, friendly staff
located in what was like a ghetto, would'nt go back.
The bathroom. General decor old fashioned needs updating. Like an old peoples home.
Liked the friendliness of the staff
Didn't like the comfort factor of the bed & the fact there wasn't a flat screen tele
All Staff and the owners both very friendly & accommodating, especially to needs of the disabled. Rooms very clean and fresh (and even smelt so!). Lovely traditional look and feel to the surroundings (including the old valve radio in the reception). Full English Breakfast with any kind of eggs to order was included and was nicely done. Waitress service with a smile and a friendly word. Would definitely go back again anytime
Couldn't find where or how to turn down the heating radiator in the room, which was a little too warm for us - but much better than being chilly on a November night.
Everything.....last minute booking after a long day travelling. Couldn't ask for more.
close to what I wanted
bed was sqeeky when I moved
Breakfast was ok
Not really as advertised. Other residents all appeared to be temporarily living here whilst waiting to be housed. We decided to use bar and lounge but bar was shut and poorly stocked, lounge residents were enjoying cans of lager n take away pizzas. People in their night clothes. Smell of weed. Manager really not interested wen tried to talk to him. Not really what we were expecting even for a 2 star hotel. Came away feeling slightly deluded by experience.
VERY Good breakfast. Good room with en suit, tea and coffee making facilities. You could not fault this Hotel for the price.
Bed squeaked loudly every time you moved. Kept waking me up.
The bed was very comfortable.
The sink was in the bedroom. Do not like the small shower at all. Breakfast was poor, still plenty of food. Not good quality for the money!
Needs up dating
breakfast was good
bed squeaked. room was clean but could do with coat of paint
Staff were likeable.
Dated decor, poor facilities. Not very nice smell in room and bathroom.
Staff were all so very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Very pretty too.
I would have liked a phone in the room to contact reception for questions, or an information leaflet. There was one on the door but it didn't say what time breakfast finished.
All in general, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
It was clean and the breakfast was very good.
There was nothing to complain about .
Great value for money. Hotel is dated but is going through a revamp. Breakfast was lovely.
Quite noisy with doors banging, wooden hall floors so all conversations and walking could be heard and a child kicking a ball against a wall from 7 am on a Sunday morning!!!
Friendly man on front desk, room very clean.
Location, road full of houses converted into flats, lots of young people hanging around the street, loud music from houses, didn't feel safe and concerned about car over night. People returning to hotel at 2am and having to bang hard on door to get in. How about a bell that porter can carry reciever around with him.
could not sleep due to drunks walking up and down the street making a hell of a noise, the bathroom was well you can imagine , not very nice, I could say more but I think I have made my point
It's a cheap hotel, but felt clean, cared-for and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
No real complaints. TV didn't seem to work in our room, but that wasn't a problem for us.
Nice breakfasts,room confortable
too far away from main town if on foot -(30 mins walk)
