Noisy traffic makes it difficult to sleep. Useless blind kept very little light out from the street lights.
Good location, Price Breakfast Accommodating host
Unprofessional language of host. Lack of wifi in bedroom
location is good
breakfast is poor the staff is lazy the room is not clean the price is not valuable room is very small check out too early you can't eat in your room
Bed was comfy, good price
Didn't know how to turn heating off at night.
location, friendly management
the property is a bit dated indeed, a bit smelly and messy, but overall it was clean and well-kept. The biggest inconvenient was not to have a proper Internet connection. There's no wifi in the rooms, and the one downstairs wasn't always reliable. But it's also good to learn not to be connected all the time!
The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was excellent
Nothing to dislike
Jug of fresh milk provided for bedroom on request. Cooked breakfast included. Excellent effective radiator in bedroom.
Poor internet in room so had to use my laptop downstairs in breakfast room which was not ideal. Ceiling light in bedroom was a strip light so needed to use side light only otherwise lighting was too harsh.
Simple, friendly and casually comfortable.
On the main shore road so no car parking, we had a very wet and windy walk carrying our cases from a nearby street.
to the car before breakfast and we were locked out and we cme and friend took our bags out ouldn't get anyones attention so we couldn't have the breakfast we were promiced . I was very disappointed because of this situation
Sea front location, walking distance from the city centre.
Went back to the room late at night and the electric to the room light had tripped and there was no bedside light in the room. At breakfast the cheapest sausages as possible are used.
Friendly staff. Beds were fine. No complaints.
Stair rail was a little tacky to touch and made the place feel less clean that was actually the case.
Simplistic, homely, welcoming.
Rip off, do not stay even as a last resort!
Noisy and TV didn't work Had to leave early so didn't sample the breakfast. Much nicer guest houses displaying better prices
Arriving...twin room was in a square cement box. Bathroom was outside room Felt every spring in mattress. Old old old
Location. Room satisfactory.
I didn't like the lack of reception when you go in, being asked to leave your belongings in another room while you check in (people have valuables!), the lack of wifi (bear in mind they have wifi in the restaurant/bar only), and the lack of a working TV in the room, and a shower that doesn't stay at the same temperature, not to mention the rude, uncaring staff. Reminds me of Fawlty Towers, but in Swansea rather than Torquay.
The beach immediately opposite. The owner/manager was pleasant enough.
The room was disgusting. The bed was unclean - ensuite was a joke. The 'wardrobe' was an old curtain across a recess on an old net curtain wire - didn't even fit. Net curtain was filthy. There were only 2 plugs so if you had the television with its converter box on you couldn't use anything else. The whole place smelt of damp. We arrived in the dark in pouring rain soaking wet and would have checked out immediately if we had been able to have found somewhere else. Wifi only available in the 'lounge' ha ha - two dirty armchairs in the same room as the tables for breakfast. Altogether a most unpleasant experience.
We were not very impressed at the initial reception we got from the hotel. But they made it up with the very good breakfast. Although, we checked out at 10:00hrs, he allowed us to keep our stuff till evening when we came back and collected them. Overall I will give them a pass mark.
In our room the shower wasn't working very well. The water was either too hot or too cold.
Shower was good!
General decor and cleanliness needs time and effort to clean it up and lots of fresh paint breakfast adequate but amateurish
Near the Sea
Place stank, as did the two gentlemen running the Guest House. No parking after 8 am.
I love this hotel and staff. Hotel arrangements are higher then my expectations.
