Hospitality and friendliness, tranquil location, good quality food.
Shower was poor. I love dogs, not a place if you dislike them. I was asked if our stay was an occasion -. I expected at least a bottle of wine for the table but my partner found a card instead. This was a nice touch but why ask if no intention to make a little fuss.
Old fashioned charm. Food Staff and BIll Fresh milk for tea in the rooms Grounds
Wold have liked more of a delay between courses
Remembered our first names and made us feel welcome. Food was very good. Very quiet. Open fire was welcoming.
For the Bridal Suite, it wasn't special. Food was over-priced. TV wasn't working , nor wifi.
Towels Breakfast Staff
Bathroom very old fashioned Shower useless Room no 3 very dated Extremely overpriced
Location is excellent. Easy to get to Ross on Wye, Symonds Yat and the Forest of Dean. Comfy Hotel that specialises in good food, squashy armchairs and welcoming dogs and their owners (the porch is full of dog friendly kit eg dog towels and blankets). But dogs are not allowed in dining room.
I love dogs but my husband is not keen on dogs so if you are the same then avoid. Also dogs do stay in bedrooms so take care if you have an allergy to dogs.
Quirky and definitely fun stay for the more discerning older traveller. Excellent chef and huge bed in room 1
Location was not ideal and bathroom needed refreshment.
a lovely country house, nice people & good services.
Friendly staff and William is an amazing host who makes you feel comfortable straight away!
We liked everything, its our favourite hotel
Nothing, we cant fault it
Food exceptional, staff very friendly and welcoming, nothing too much trouble, good communication prior to arrival.
Only staying one night, should have stayed longer.
Staff were very friendly and the food was outstanding
Great food. Old world charm. Very friendly and helpful staff
Ambiance of a country house hotel, friendly staff and excellent food
Everything was first class
food, friendly/relaxed atmosphere.
Dinner was ok, excellent cheese board
I booked a double room but it was too single beds pushed together. En-suite was very small and outdated. General decor was old and could do with updating. Breakfast wasn't available until after 07:45, i told them i had to leave at 07:30, the response was tough!
Great ambience, good food, very relaxing, pleasant location, good information provided on local amenities and walks
So many nice little touches: homemade biscuits in the room, a little fridge full of cold drinks, novel/arty pictures in the room. It all felt very personal and enjoyable. Eating out in the garden on a warm summer's evening - good food, nice drink, friendly but inobtrusive service.
Friendly atmosphere, excellent food
