Wonderfully peaceful 'country estate' setting with mature gardens and grounds to wander in. Friendly, helpful staff who were pleasantly unobtrusive. A extremely comfortable, quality hotel without any of the overdone fuss and bling associated with a lot 'exclusive' hotels.
The plumbing, which had a mind of its own.
the comfort luxury and the food.
Very helpful staff and great food. Make use of the billiards table, which is hidden away behind the kitchens!
We were allocated the room with disabled access on the ground floor of the cottages which felt a little overlooked despite being comfy. The bathroom plumbing was very noisy!
The location, ambience, and food. Extremely comfortable bed.
A shower whose temperature varied without warning and as a couple of 'oldies' the staircase.
Comfortable country house. Excellent ambience and warm friendly staff. It could not have been any better. The grounds are delightful and the weather for us was a bonus.
The man in the room next to us, he was up all night and the bathroom was back to back with ours. Not the fault of the hotel.
The friendliness of the staff and the delicious food.
A beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings, with friendly cheerful staff and very good food.
The service is excellent! Very well trained staff with first-class service level. The place is very nice and elegant, wonderful view from its terrace where you can have breakfast or tea. We strongly recommend the restaurant, really good both for dinner and breakfast!
We really could not find a fault. Charming owners and all staff very helpful, excellent dinner and splendid breakfast, very comfortable room and double bed, good shower etc. We will certainly return, fearing our next visit could not be so good!!
Surroundings. Staff were friendly.Room was lovely with great views.
Did not use the bath tub. It needs looking at regarding cleanliness.
Friendly and helpful staff, secluded location and general ambiance of the hotel.
The hotel grounds as such are an adventure. The location is wonderful. The hotel offers many spots to relax. The general atmosphere is truly that of a grand country house.
The room tariffs and the dining costs are a bit high (but there are fine restaurants in the nearby villages).
Relaxed friendly personable staff and the lovely setting.
That we were not in time for their lovely afternoon tea
No top sheet just a duvet which was too hot in summer
Lovely location, comfortable beds, good food, friendly staff
Very loud squeaky bathroom floor
such a pleasant surprise to find a truly professionally run hotel tucked away in rural Wales. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The quality of the food was outstanding with lots of locally sourced dishes on the menu.
room was a little too small although thoughtfully furnished.
Excellent service, food and ambiance, a truly surprise! Bravo!
Absolutely nothing, except from leaving
Lovely location, comfortable surroundings, very nice room. Really pleasant and a feeling of great comfort.
Windows of our room were filthy and made the view not as pleasant.
The serving staff were very pleasing and willing. the tranquility
Inflexibility of reception staff to accomodate very minor requests that were feasible.. or maybe it was shortsighted policy.
Perfectly located for exploring the Brecon Beacons, the hotel is wonderfully quiet, beautifully nestled in its very well maintainned grounds. The formal rooms, conservatory and terrace are all anbsolutely delightful, and the beds supremely comfy. The staff attended to every small request with great charm. Breakfasts were delicious, with impressive attention to detail. It was a truly lovely 3 night stay. I'll be wishing I can return.
Fabulous location, building and grounds. Great food, too.
No mobile signal (but at least there's good WiFi)
Beautiful position and grounds with a good meal
Bedroom a bit warm at night
The food was excellent and beautifully presented - top marks to the chef! The grounds and magnificent views created an idyllic environment. Members of staff were friendly and helpful.
I was a little disappointed in our room. The furniture was old-fashioned and I struggled opening some drawers and the cupboard -not user-friendly for slightly disabled guest. The bed was not too comfortable. Wondered if we would have fared better in the main hotel?
location, friendly staff
