when arrived the smell on the stairs of rotten eggs stunk. Also I worked night shift didn't get back to hotel till 6 the cleaner was talking very loudly on the landing very noisey and music was played down stairs loudly to my have been put of going back there and manager was very rude.
Great helpful & friendly staff... Many have been there a long time -- these seem to love working there.. Modern bedroom & shower.. Warn too........ no late noise either..... 2/3 min walk into town.. free car park nest door -- voucher from hotel if needed...
Shabby and stale smelling, didn't have the breakfast because of smell. Had a very bad fall on uneven floor in the bar in the morning when paying the bill. Went to speak about it as it is definite safety hazard but staff was preoccupied so left because of unpleasant smell.
Lovely old pub. Looked initially grubby from the outside but it's not at all. Well worth the cost. Breakfast was good which was in the dinning area of the pub. Lovely old bar. Room was clean and pleasant.
Wished the waitress would smile at breakfast.
Clean room, friendly staff very obliging and extremely helpful. Lovely cooked breakfast. Great all rounder considering the rooms are above a busy town pub. Will use the hotel again without a doubt.
The staff were really friendly and helpful.
Clean room with a modern, pleasant style. Good warm feeling pub. Good price
Rather small room, single. Breakfast just ordinary
Good reception at all times
good food, friendly staff, sparkling bar area
location a bit drab
The Globe is a very traditional place to stay, the pub it's self is not open late so residents are not effected by bar noise. The bar is very impressive with lots of gleaming brass. Friendly staff, good clean warm rooms and comfy bed. Excellent hot breakfast served with a smile ( you don't get that too often these days) and the price was right .
Don't know how old the crowd were that gathered at the edge of the car park but the were very loud , maybe from the night club but they sounded much too young. I thought they were never going to go home. Had nothing to do with the take away because when I looked out of the window it had long closed. Girls screaming after Harry went on an on, so pleased we had an extra hour in bed. Hopefully this was a one off . I would still stay again but hopefully next time without the popular Harry and his groupies .
Location and breakfast
Lack of sleep due to late night singer and thin walls and ceilings
Everything about the Inn - accommodation - staff - food - price. We knew what to expect of the location because we stayed there last year and liked it. We shall stay there again the next time we are in the area.
Reading bad reports about the Globe - it gives you good value and pleasant hospitality - suggest that all these people who pull it down - try and get the same deal at the `Ritz‘.
the location was ideal. the price was ideal
the room was very cramped the room smelled dirty(especially the chair).
Great Location, right in the middle of town, but was a quite when I stayed there,
No private car parking, but public next door to the globe.
Meals and ale!
No on site vehicle parking, (not good for a M/Cycle !)
Rooms stank of stale cigarette smoke. Bar area, which also doubled as eating area stank of stale beer. Not a good experience
Cant fault this hotel. Just what I was looking for! Reasonable price, good comfy clean room. Good breakfast. Was in easy reach of the venue. I would stay here again.
Friendly staff Good selection of real ales Clean and comfy rooms 5 mintute walk to town centre
Very clean and comfortable and great location and friendly helpful staff
Noisy, main road position in an unpleasant area
A pub with a lot of charm and full of life.
Friendly staff Cleanliness Free WiFi Breakfast choices
Inconsiderate guests slamming doors when going into their rooms.
Evening fish and chips in the restaurant were really nice. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms with comfortable beds. Great location in the middle of town. Fair price.
Breakfast sausages were dreadful. Wifi may as well have not been there, with an almost non-existent signal.
