good food, friendly staff, sparkling bar area
location a bit drab
The Globe is a very traditional place to stay, the pub it's self is not open late so residents are not effected by bar noise. The bar is very impressive with lots of gleaming brass. Friendly staff, good clean warm rooms and comfy bed. Excellent hot breakfast served with a smile ( you don't get that too often these days) and the price was right .
Don't know how old the crowd were that gathered at the edge of the car park but the were very loud , maybe from the night club but they sounded much too young. I thought they were never going to go home. Had nothing to do with the take away because when I looked out of the window it had long closed. Girls screaming after Harry went on an on, so pleased we had an extra hour in bed. Hopefully this was a one off . I would still stay again but hopefully next time without the popular Harry and his groupies .
Location and breakfast
Lack of sleep due to late night singer and thin walls and ceilings
Everything about the Inn - accommodation - staff - food - price. We knew what to expect of the location because we stayed there last year and liked it. We shall stay there again the next time we are in the area.
Reading bad reports about the Globe - it gives you good value and pleasant hospitality - suggest that all these people who pull it down - try and get the same deal at the `Ritz‘.
the location was ideal. the price was ideal
the room was very cramped the room smelled dirty(especially the chair).
Great Location, right in the middle of town, but was a quite when I stayed there,
No private car parking, but public next door to the globe.
Meals and ale!
No on site vehicle parking, (not good for a M/Cycle !)
Rooms stank of stale cigarette smoke. Bar area, which also doubled as eating area stank of stale beer. Not a good experience
Cant fault this hotel. Just what I was looking for! Reasonable price, good comfy clean room. Good breakfast. Was in easy reach of the venue. I would stay here again.
Friendly staff Good selection of real ales Clean and comfy rooms 5 mintute walk to town centre
Very clean and comfortable and great location and friendly helpful staff
Noisy, main road position in an unpleasant area
A pub with a lot of charm and full of life.
Friendly staff Cleanliness Free WiFi Breakfast choices
Inconsiderate guests slamming doors when going into their rooms.
Evening fish and chips in the restaurant were really nice. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms with comfortable beds. Great location in the middle of town. Fair price.
Breakfast sausages were dreadful. Wifi may as well have not been there, with an almost non-existent signal.
Friendly, helpful staff Excellent location 5 minute walk from train station and in the centre of town Free wifi Excellent breakfast
Location, the breakfast, the bar.
No view from our room...had to have the curtains kept closed to stop people seeing into our room.
Cleanliness and helpful staff.
I generally attend agm at national memorial arboretum on or around 15th august. for several years now have stayed at Globe Inn and find it good value.
Location was ideal and breakfast excellent with very pleasant staff.
Right from the moment we arrived to the minute we left, the staff could not have been more helpful. The service would have put a five-star hotel to shame. Nothing was too much trouble! The room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Everything about the Globe added so much to our trip...
Really good meals
Noise from air condition units outside window
Nice furnished room, good breakfast staff friendly and helpful and great bar area, good old British pub atmosphere. J and T. B'ham
Staff all excellent with a very good breakfast. Gorgeous pub in town centre - Location great.
Had to move rooms cus we were placed against the night club next door which was an awful nights sleep. So loud. It was so hot that we couldn't close the windows as there is no air-co, but the staff were quick and easy to move us the 2nd night without a problem.
Little room although it was a double and a shower that you have to run for 10minutes beforee you get a 'drizzle' of hot water.
