The room was spacious and quiet and everything in and out of the room was clean and newly decorated. The hotel has a free car park and is within convenient walking distance of the town centre. Reception was largely unmanned and no staff were present at breakfast, which was therefore entirely self service, including turning on the lights. |

The room was clean and even if small, value for money. The breakfast was self-service. They provide you with a kitchen and some basic breakfast food and you have to do it yourself. We waited half an hour for somebody to check out on departure day. After we called them on the mobile number, inicated on a leaflet behind a plant, they told us to leave the key of the room at the reception desk and leave. It will be nice if they can provide more information about what is going on in Colchester. Some of the leaflets were related to 2007 and other about Suffulk and Ispwich instead that the Colchester area. |

A family run hotel that makes you welcome and feel part of the family. I liked the breakfast room with its open kitchen. Makes you feel really at home. And one of the best resturants in Colchester in the Hotel. Good price, good service, who could ask for more. |

In Colchester town centre, the historic Red Lion Hotel dates from 1465. It is close to shops and has excellent links to the M11, M25, Stansted Airport, Cambridge and Harwich. |
A 500-year-old coaching house, steeped in history, located in the heart of Colchester, England's oldest recorded town. Please note the hotel does not have a lift or any rooms on the ground floor. |
Just 800 metres from Colchester Railway Station and the heart of the town centre, the hotel offers great value, with spacious, comfortable and modern en suite rooms and free parking. |
Within walking distance of Colchester town centre, this 14th-century posting house, restored over the centuries, is within easy reach of East Anglia's historic sights. |
