Very lively with good location
Not much car parking, needs a good spruce up.
the size of the room
very hot and could not open a window
the location was very good and the staff where helpful. The cleanliness of the bedroom was very good, cleaned and bed made daily. Benefit of parking was good, but difficulty to find due to one way scheme. If breakfast facilities were made better this would be a really good place to stay.
Breakfast need some organisation, often there were no plates for the toast, dishes left on the table from others staying there resulting in no cutlery on the table, water for the tea should have been checked as most mornings it was very low and cold. Good variety of cereals etc, but we were not made aware that you could have asked for something different than full breakfast.
Friendliness of staff Quality of food.
A better map of location from hotel's website would have been useful. We found roads in Yeovil a nightmare to negotiate--one-way system, numerous roundabouts etc. They also didn't appear to have any knowledge of the special dietary needs we had requested.
Location ideal for our requirements.Good breakfast.
No television in the room. Lack of hotel housekeeping/management on site to deal with this problem, we were told nothing could be done until next morning which was of no use to us as we were only staying for the one night.Room could do with refreshing especially the ceiling tiles which were showing signs of damp, plus lack of curtain / blind in bathroom.
Good food and beer and sky sport in the bar.
It was quiet, bedding spotless and comfortable giving a good night's sleep.
Food was excellently cooked and presented, but unfortunately the evening meal and cooked breakfast was not very warm. In fact the fried egg and bacon were cold and the meals were served on cold plates.
Location was ideal as we were visiting family close by. A round of drinks was a fair price, there was plenty of selection for the continental breakfast but the cooked breakfast was arrived at the table lukewarm.
When going to the rooms the corridors did not smell at all fresh. We booked a double room, but it seemed it was set up for one person, re: one towel - one glass.(There was a problem on arrival and the room we were originally supposed to have the key was missing). When looking at the bed it appeared to be on the slant. When we were in the bed our legs were alot higher than our heads. The pillows were as hard as rock!! Hence not much sleep. The shower head appeared to be broken and water went everywhere. The windows were single glazed so the condensation was terrible.
Location - do not stay here!
Broken shower curtain- so unable to shower. Broken toilet seat. Uncomfortable bed and worn out mattress. All the floor boards creaked, heard everyone else in the hotel moving. Could not open windows. Not enough pillows or towels. When asked staff, was told someone would inspect within 5 minutes. Had to chase twice more and an hour later was told there were no more rooms and nothing could be done, but here is a pillow. (It was a cushion). Breakfast was awful. You expect a basic level for low cost but this was well below the mark! Being above a pub, expected to be loud.
When I came down for breakfast/checkout I told the day manager about the toilet paper and other problems, He was very apologetic and gave me a hefty discount from the original rate. He also made a very nice English breakfast which kept me going for the first part of the day.
Where should I start? There was no toilet paper in the bath room and no where was a spare roll to be seen anywhere. Luckily I had some tissue with me and used that. The was no question of going downstairs as reception was next door in another building. The carpet was very shabby and looked dirty. The bed was very creaky and made a lot of noise everytime I moved around. There was no wi-fi code provided on checkin. I did not get a receipt when I paid on check-in.(should have of course asked for one). The bathroom was rather shabby and there was no bath mat. Although the window curtains were black that made very little difference as light shined right through them. Bin collectors woke me about 5 AM and again there was some door slamming around 6 AM. Not a very restful night's sleep. I arrived very late and found the hotel's parking lot up behind the building, however, this was very poorly and I could hardly see my way.
bed very comfortable & clean breakfast good
carpet filthy shower curtain & bath mat mouldy. table badly chipped.carpet cleaned on last night & shower curtain replaced on last night of our stay.
Bed was really comfy and we had a quite a good sleep, considering we were next to a normally busy road. Excellent location for shopping and walking to local restaurants. Breakfast was good, but no tea spoons in sight! Staff very friendly and good WiFi.
Rooms are VERY tired. Some light bulbs not working, broken draws, carpet not very clean and room was overlooking a smoking area. Like a maze trying to find our room. Stair plastic strips on edges of steps VERY slippery. Shower broke when trying adjust it.(Reported but maintains man is also owner and chef, so could not be fixed before our visited ended). More than likely won't stay again. We didn't feel that it was worth what we paid.
1.plenty of hot water 2.chef friendly and great at producing excellent food 3.eclectic interior furnishing styles
1.generally 'knocked-about' look to the bathroom 2.cigarette ends along passage way to car park 3.narrow car parking space!
Buffet Breakfast - good choice of continental options as well as cooked. Room clean and comfortable Check in easy and staff friendly Easy access to Yeovil Town Centre
The efficiency of reception, of the breakfast chef, and the overall value for money
Staff very helpful nothing to much trouble manger asked would we like to move room because having music that night
attitude of the bar staff ad at check in was excellent.
state of the gents toilet, needs better supervision. Rooms very dated with creaky floors. Breakfast staff bit too laid back, need to be more customer facing and aware.
The Managers couldn't have been more accommodating
The floorboards in the block creaked really badly - the owners of the property should rectify this as it led to a terrible night sleep as the room is really noisy - when mentioned to the Manager he was really good about it but it needs the Hotel owner to give them rooms to match their service level
Location, Free parking (bit of a squeeze), Tea and Coffee. Nice touch owner making breakfast as I was late (miss informed)
Small room above noisey pub (slept ok in fairness when pub shut) lasefair staff.....messy check in.
Sleepless nights(due to other guests) Warmed up breakfast A small breakfast 1 Toaster not working Mouldy bread
Free WiFi, friendly staff, reasonable price.
Previous occupants hair on the tiles in the shower.
Clean & tidy ok
Shower not good bathroom door had a hole in it ????
The food was really good. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were in a downstairs room which was very clostrophobic. we asked for another room and were given one quite promptly which was lovely.
2nd day room was not cleaned. was told person before took the key, so no spare. Left key next day room was still not cleaned. next day came back to a lovely clean room but no towels! not good enough. took 2 complaints to get any. Very unorganised...
Bed in room 15 was creaky
