Although in the annexe our room was very nice, clean and had everything we might need. Location was excellent for centre of Yeovil. Staff were friendly. Buffet breakfast which was provided in pub was tasty, plentiful and there was much variety. I particularly enjoyed our evening meal which was homemade freshly cooked, and again there was plently of choice on the menu. Staff were very friendly too. Our only grumble was regarding parking. The entrance from the front of the hotel is very narrow and up a steep hill and had a post at the top, through which my other half had to squeeze our wide Volvo estate through. It might be a lot easier for smaller cars, but we could smell our clutch burning up as he held the car on the hill whilst inching through the gap. When we had parked up a local lady told us the way in to the car park via the back access, but this hadn't been pointed out to us at all before the struggle.

Our stay at the Globe & Crown was only for one night, Although we did have three rooms. We were on our way home from picking our son up from Plymouth Naval Base. We were extremely happy with our Stay, the staff were very friendly, the rooms were spacious, and clean. We had an evening meal, which was very good, and the buffet style breakfast included in the price was excellent. Our son is a Royal Marine, and believe me, when it comes to eating, they are the experts!!! I would thouroughly reccommend the Globe & Crown, and would happily stay there again.

We always choose this hotel in Yeovil for its unbeatable price and location, together with the warm and friendly welcome. The bar is a great place to relax and socialise, and the town centre is only a few strides away, making shopping far easier than you'd expect. In spite of its central location, there is not much in the way of traffic or human noise, although some rooms are more insulated than others. The breakfast is always enjoyable, with a choice of cereals, "full English", toast and so on; there is no limit on the portions, as you can help yourself to anything you wish. (It would be churlish to criticise the limited choice of fruit - this is a budget hotel, after all, and there's always m and s up the road!) Local restaurants are excellent, in particular the Viceroy ("Indian"), which offers a fantastic menu and great service, again, all within easy strolling distance of the Globe. If you don't fancy a stroll, then you can always eat in, as the hotel offers a good choice of evening meals. We have stayed here countless times and have never been disappointed - it's brilliant value for money.

The staff were very pleasant despite the fact that they checked us in whilst trying to serve on a very busy bar in the pub due to no open reception at the hotel entrance. The breakfast was sufficient although a bit chaotic with little room to serve yourself. The location of the hotel is very central. Annoyingly they take payment 2 days before arrival. The rooms are very dated and extremely basic. The bathroom was not pleasant, grotty tiles and stained bath. The rooms are not soundproof at all, all the doors are paper thin. This hotel was fine for a brief stay of 1 night, but we wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer and we won't be returning.

Staff Breakfast A pub quiz, good for locals but after dinner a quiet beer would have been welcome but there was nowhere in the pub as the speakers were on everywhere and loud, obviously not happening everynight but another couple staying there gave up and went to thier room. Perhaps the pub quiz should be restricted to one area.

Excellent for Yeovil town centre. Breakfast top notch - shame I wasn't really up t it! I'd read about the hill to the car park in reviews but didn't find it that bad at all. If it worries folk, you can get in to the car park round the back so really not a problem. My room was at the front. A little bit of noise, but nothing to get excited about. There was a street light right outside, again doesn't affect me but would some. Some blackout curtains would do the job.

Good central to town hotel with parking.Friendly bar staff and excellent breakfast facilities. The only thing which was a pain ( but not your fault ) was the emptying of the bottle skip at 5.45am making a terrible din right outside my room.I would have thought this was against the law.Perhaps you could take this up with Biffa or whoever.

Perfectly adequate - but no more than that. I wouldn't have wanted to have paid more than the £39 it cost me though.

Location, Location, Location Our Room 15 which was a cramped box room. The bed was squeeky and lumpy and was up against the wall and the window. The windows had secondary glazing and on arrival covered in condensation. Overall stuffy and claustraphobic. Not a healthy choice at breakfast. No fruit, yogurt or butter alternative.

The staff were amaing could not fault them one bit. That was on arrive whilst collecting keys, during the evening when we popped in for a drink and in the moring at breakfast time. The shower in room 34 was great and very powerful, the room was clean and well docorated. Good size television and comfortable bed, Me and my partner were impressed that the bed came with 2 pillows each, when normally you only get one each. Very close to the town centre, 2 minute walk (if that).. Free parking - and the little hill really isnt that bad, we got the 206 easily though :) A bit noisey, but nothing you couldnt sleep though. We got a parking space, but there isnt many.

Location was good basically on the edge of the tyown centre so everywhere walkable. Nicde breakfast, pleasant staff. The room (no 7) was next to the stair case and sound proofing poor given age of the building. We could hear people walking up and down stairs which was made worse by the fact this was at 3am and 5am on Sunday morning. Perhaps other rooms may not have this problem.

The welcome here is always genuinely warm and friendly. Whave stayed here many times, and have never found anything to complain about. Our room on this occasion was really excellent - totally quiet in spite of the proximity to town, and worthy of a much more expensive hotel. Once again, and excellent breakfast and a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Fantastic value for maney.

“As a parent travelling with 2 young children, the hotel staff couldn't have been more welcoming despite arriving very late on our first day. They made us all feel as though we were important guests. The full English breakfast was super and delicious, even the children cleared their plates. I would happily recommend the hotel to anyone, it was a pleasure to stay there and we will definitely be going back.” Lissa, Newport |
