I did like the location of the hotel as it was very close to the town centre.
The room was very small and the decor was tired and uninspiring. The bed was very noisy and generally the room was not very comfortable.
The single room was awful, non usable freeview, the shower was a total joke, being under the eaves(the room was in the roof) so anyone over five foot had to crouch. The room was beyond shabb y chic!
Location to town centre , Good bar.breakfast was good.
The hotel is in need of a lick of paint to all wood work out side.the room we were in had holes in the bathroom door, and the mattress was the cheapest of the cheap.
Location fantastic, staff extremely helpful and friendly, room fairly basic but excellent value for money paid
The rooms are in need of updating and redecorating. Bathroom paint on walls peeling and mould around bath tiles.
There was nothing to dislike but the staff were very helpful and friendly.
I had to go to the car park at about 9.30pm to collect the cuddly toy our grandson cannot sleep without. It was a very dark and isolated place and I was pleased to get back into our room again.
location, price, on site car park, breakfast included, nice powerful shower, helpful staff when checking in.
Basic room which needed redecoration, breakfast was cold and basic and we arrived for the start. TV remote didn't work and TV was all cracked round the edges. The rooms need a complete redecoration and modernisation and then this would be a great place to stay.
We liked the pub also we had a meal, the black rock that was excellent. The room was ok just that it was very noisy in the morning with traffic and lorries unload the new stock.
The breakfast needs to be improved, with better toasters and individual butter, jams and mamalades as the dish of butter that everyone had been digging about in was very off putting. The house keeping could be improved with clean cups every day or the tea and coffee and making off the beds
The bar staff were friendly although very thin on the ground.
The room was so outdated. TV did not work properly. Window broken and would not shut properly. Noise from the pub below into the early hours of the morning.
The room was very well furnished apart from having chairs to sit upon.
The overpowering disinfectant smell from the en-suite. The person above who walked with hob nail boots on between 3a.m. and 4a.m. each night.
customer service food was great breakfast was super
car parking can be a be awkward
Good value for money
Some of the party had a disturbed nights sleep due to other unruly guests.
Car parking, Breakfast, location. Helpful staff
Bed matress uncomfortable. Hole in the Bathroom door Creaking flooboards, pleased were on the top floor
Friendly staff, easy check in and nice breakfast.
The staff were excellent very friendly and helpful . Evening meal was of a good standard
The rooms are a bit basic and the breakfast was not very good especially the sausages which where of a cheap and low meat content variety
Located very close to the centre of town. Local bus stopped outside the door.
Very poor knowledge of the local area. Had no idea where the tourist information centre was-it's around the corner. Had no idea how to get to Lyme Regis - gave me wrong information on what train station to go to. Carpet in room was disgusting and bath floor was rotting away. Very poor value for money.
Cheap, clean and excellent breakfasts. Rooms, beds & bathrooms dated but clean. We were a party of 6 aged from 11 to 80 and were made very welcome. Arriving later than we expected because of Mway traffic didn't put the staff off their stride.
The taxi rank outside and it's noisy customers kept some of us awake till 4am which rather spoiled the full day we had planned on the Saturday.
The bar and dining
The room and its ameneties were very substandard.
Breakfast was excellent. A Wide choice of food to suit everyone. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The breakfast was really nice and the staff were friendly.
The place had potential however, the windows were broken and wouldn't open properly, one window had a crack in it. When we asked for a fan they didn't have any, on a very hot day. The wifi was out of range in the room. I could see they were having work done, however I would recommend they did the rooms as I would not have paid £50 for the room had I known the state of it!!!
Wi-Fi was sporadic.
Good central location
Noisy as put beside kitchens, could have done with a good redecoration as very tired and shabby looking.
Door hard to lock from the inside and the next morning we could not unlock the door to get out and had to yell at a passer by to notify the staff to let us out. No phone in the room and when I called the hotel number on my cell only got the answering machine.
Good location in the town centre with free parking and good value for money. Eventually allowd to check in early (As requested).
Staff not very welcoming and a bit rude on arrival if I'm honest! Not a lot of information offered. Had to ask for everything.
The selection of beers/ciders was ok
Booked 2 rooms online, phoned up to hear only one was booked, we added the second one again. When we arrived there was now 3 rooms booked at different/increased prices. Rooms are in desperate need of redecorating, tv didn't work, hair dryer didn't work, urine stains round rim of toilet, faulty lock on door meaning if emergency wouldn't have got out quickly, kettle didn't work. The food.. Order came totally different to how we wanted, 4 steaks all on cool yourself black rock stones, reordered dish to which same again, breakfast could have been it bit warmer. Any cars bigger than normal (range rover etc) is doubtful to get in the car park.
Location and convenience for Yeovil, which is a very pleasant town with great shopping facilities and plenty of history. With a bit of sprucing up this would be a great stopover and retaining a typical old coaching inn style ambiance.
Parking was a bit of an issue - particularly as I have a large tourer(estate) car. It was quite difficult to negotiate the hotel car park at the rear but we used the nearby pay/display car park overnight...leaving early morning(by 8am) and returning after 6pm in the evening, thereby avoiding £1/hr charges.
