Gloucester House  

The location on the seafront in Douglas was convenient for trains, trams & buses & is a short bus ride from the airport. We stayed in the central island suite which was spacious, newly decorated & pristinely clean. Although we didn't have a view from the room, we enjoyed using the lounge which has a sea view.

I'd struggle to find anything to dislike about this property.

It's a short walk from the Douglas Sea Terminal. You can take the ferry, land, walk to your apartment and have a rental car delivered. Shirley met us immediately at the door and gave us a tour and explained everything. They had laid in some breakfast supplies (bread, juice, jam) to get us started. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a great view of the water and of Loch Promenade. It's a convenient location to Douglas shopping and the Manx museum, and for driving out to the rest of the island. There are many good restaurants nearby.

There was some construction behind us that was annoying at night, but this was a short term thing and not the fault of the hotel managers. Parking is a little challenging, but manageable. I'd recommend this lodging to anyone venturing to the Isle of Man. We had a great time.

The accommodation was excellent. The rooms, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. All room lovely and comfotable. Excellent fully equipped kitchen. We stayed in a suite for the extra room. We stayed out all day and explored the island and then had a great place to relax in the evening and put our feet up. I would recommend this hotel without doubt to anyone visiting the island and as a frequent visitor, I hope to stay there again.

If I had one tiny little niggle it would be that we had noisy neighbours! If you are on the bottom or middle floor you can hear people thudding around, but you can get that anywhere. It just depends whether you are lucky enough to have considerate neighbours!

The location and the relaxed environment. It felt like a home away from home. The kitchen facilities were also excellent.

We stayed in the North Island Suite which was fine the only concern was the noise from either above or below's Television. This could be heard quite clearly in our lounge.

The bed in the study is a litlle bit too small for two single persons not being a couple. There is no more space, so I would suggest a better discription on the side of booking.com so that guests can make a decision wether they can accept that or not.

We were comprehensively welcomed and our every need was attended to promptly. As self-catering accommodation it was close to shops and restaurants.

The parking arrangements were complex - street parking that could not be used 24 hours, thus the car needed moving twice a day, which rather ruled what we did and when - and removed opportunity for a relaxed lunch with alcohol. A small price to pay but one that became annoying after a few days.

Comfortable and very convenient with all the facilities needed. Good size, quiet and in a good position.

Having stayed here previously and being impressed I was (pleasantly) surprised to find the accommodation to n even higher standard than last time. The Apartment with hotel type servicing makes for a very convenient and pleasant stay. The presentation of the accommodation rates superb on every score scrupulously clean, huge bed, massive bath sheets a modern kitchen and somebody who kindly makes the bed and empties the dishwasher. very quite , lovely big room and well kitted out. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff . The people in Douglas are very friendly.

Not the hotel's fault , but the parking in Douglas is awful!Only at the end of our stay did we find a all day car park ,which was fine . Shops and Restaurants are expensive .

Great location, very clean and comfortable.

The location is fabulous right on the Promenade and within walking distance of the shops, buses, trams, the steam trsin and the ferry.

Loved everything about our stay here.
