A good stay marred by the fact that there was no hot water in the shower on Sunday morning, this meant that we were late for breakfast and there was very little left when we got down and the staff seemed to be far more interested in getting everything put away rather than making sure that we got what we wanted for breakfast. If breakfast finishes at 10:30 then this surely means that breakfast is available for people who arrive at 10:29, not that "at 10:30 we clear everything off the buffet and by 10:31 there is nothing to eat". This needs addressing and you should either move the times to suit the staff or leave the breakfast things there until 11:00 hrs. Also. if the beans run out at 10:25 you do not refuse to refill them and this goes for all the rest of the items on offer.

Convernient and reasonably priced Through mis management took £58 for the room from my Credit Card, then attempted to take £88 after departure. This figure was for the room and possible use of facilities, I.E. bar etc. I only found out by checking my Credit Card details when I got home

Its location We booked a double and got a twin. We complained and were given a disabled double. It was a bit beat up with holes in the wall where the door to the adjoining room had hit the wall when opened. The bathroom was awful, there was no lid on the toilet and the seat was loose. The shower was terrible with just clinging curtains around it and one had to stand on what appeared to be rusted metal to shower. It's all very well to indicate that the room is for disabled people but there's no need to patronise them - and we didn't ask for, need or want this room, anyway. All in all a poor experience when compared to our other stays in hotels of this nature like the Holiday Inn Express in Swansea.

Easy to find with good facilities in the hotel. Also had good transport routes for getting out and about. Breakfast offered a great range and staff were friendly and helpful Apart from the pub next door (which served us an excellent meal) there aren't any shops or restaurants within walking distance and there is no drinks vending machine.

Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable Staff did not explain use of keycard to turn the electricity and heating on in room, I eventually sussed it but it did take me 5mins in the dark. Room was very cold on entry and took a long time to warm up even though I put the thermostat on full. Inclusive hot breakfast yes but it was poor and not worth paying extra for.

The location was suitable for my needs..... The staff are very welcoming and attentive with no pressures on guests. The external (independent) facilities such as Andy cabs and Bumble Bee for evening meal deffinately complement what you offer. Well done, good value for money.

Affordable, clean and quite. Breakfast was very poorly made. One does not need to feel breakfast was industrially made. I've eaten at larger hotels and had never encountered such a poorly made breakfast.

Very good, 8.3
Score from 452 reviews
“Our stay at the Ibis was very impressive, it was both comfortable and very clean. The staff were excellent, especially the two staff members that were on duty Sunday morning breakfast, one being the shift manager Alison, and the other being a well turned out polite and courteous young man, (unfortunately I can not remember his name) he was also on duty Saturday and always had a smile on his face and spoke to everyone whom he came in contact with, he was a credit to the hotel. We will definitely be staying there again. And will recommend the Ibis.” Ray, Trusthorpe |
