Glyn Valley Hotel

Good location for getting away from it all.

The Border 100 rally cars coming past for several hours in the middle of the night every two minutes. I think we should have been informed about this on booking. Small bed. expensive for what you get.

The food was really good, excellent breakfast and a wide selection of meals for dinner. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room was fresh, clean, lovely and the bed was so comfortable we struggled to leave it the following day. It is close enough to other areas of Wales for exploring.

The room was very cold. There were two heaters but only one worked, so at night the temperature dropped. There was a thermal blanket which made a difference and we wrapped up warm, but getting out of bed wasn't much fun. We are hardened backpackers, having slept in all weathers and wanted to spoil ourselves by being warm and dry. 1 out of 2 aint bad lol : D

friendliness of the staff - always smiling and welcoming

We found our host most attentive and interested in us and committed to the service provided by the Hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and can certainly recommend to other guests.

A larger double bed would be better but the age and design of the Hotel does limit this.

Kettle cord to short had to be used on floor. Milk left in room had gone off Pungent smell throught hotel

Very friendly reception, the owners took plenty of time for me, although they were officially closed. The room was small - therefore favorably priced, but nicely decorated and impecably clean with a very functional and clean bathroom. Restaurant unfortunately closed that day - the owners sent me to another excellent one, a beautiful short ride away. The breakfast gave a sample of what one can expect here.

Would have lioked to try their kitchen for dinner.

The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ok, could have been more substantial.

Our room was above the public bar, so we had to wait for the noise to die down before going to sleep.

Nice clean room, comfortable beds, good bathroom facilities, room only lacks WiFi.

The only shortcoming was the lack of WiFi.

Very Friendly, Good Food & Beer! The room we stayed in was a little dated, however on speaking to the landlady it would appear that most of the rooms have recently been refurbished, so it would appear that we were in one of the rooms that was next on the list for refurbishment. On saying that it was still very clean and tidy and served the purpose. I would reccomend the hotel.

The fact that,due to un-foreseen problems, there was no-one to greet us at book-in time (hotel was closed for the day)

We enjoyed our stay, thanks Heidi, and we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff and locals. Only thing we struggled with was the tv needs to be on an angled bracket so you can pivot it from the wall and actually see the screen. Thanks again Mike

El personal es muy amable, y se preocupan para que estes agusto. Se come bien y es tranquilo. No queda muy lejos del Parque Nacional de Snowdonia, que es precioso.

Solo pasamos una noche alli. Era viernes por la noche y habia un karaoke justo debajo de nosotros. Bajamos a hablar con ellos, y nos cambiaron de habitacion, a una en la que no nos molestaba en absoluto, y descansamos bastante bien. La comida alli, y el desayuno, fueron bastante buenos.

Website stated 10 mins from Llangollen therefore reason for booking - actually 30 mins as safest route via Chirk - advised by hotel staff mountain road too dangerous - upheld by other customers who tried it - once!

The food was excellent

No where to dry wet clothes (essential in Wales!!) Decor left a lot to be desired. Noise levels from the bar were not condusive to sleep

Hotel staff were friendly, polite and caring

Food was very good (but mushrooms cooked with garlic and onions with breakfast may have been a bit OTT!)

Good value, homely hotel that is also the village pub. Food is good with the Swiss special board worth trying (- guess where the owner comes from!)
