Score from 552 reviews Good
Friendly staff, comfortable room, excellent quality bed linen & towels changed daily, excellent value for money.
The location was good
The rooms were very tired in need of a refurbishment
no soap in bathroom
Staff were amazing from the minute we entered right up until we left. The facilities were good, exceeded expectations for the price.
Only issue was just having a 1 hour window for breakfast (8.30am-9.30am), maybe longer would be better, say (7.30am-10am) especially on Sunday mornings due to the great nightlife in Newquay.
The shower was a bit small...but I had a great night sleep. Excellent English breakfast.
It was ok for the one night
the place is dated and needs a re-fit to move forwards
The dining room was modern and fresh. Rest of building is tired and in need of an update. Lovley patio garden when we got there past lots of rubbish at the rear of the hotel.
Location and price
Breakfast was quite budget
The hotel was clean though I did find a dirty old sock in my wardrobe on arrival . The location was very good for the beach, town centre and roads out of town. The single rooms are good value for money having en suite and comfortable enough double beds.
The service was poor from the point of arrival. We were greeted by an indifferent barman at reception who fetched an older lady who gave us our keys and told us our rooms were up the stairs but didnt offer to help with cases. The breakfast was the worst experience I've had in a b&b. Despite there being a choice of tables, we were made to sit in a cramped area of the dining room by a rude waitress each morning who served us a small luke warm breakfast. But the weirdest thing was that she demanded we share our heatproof placemat for pots of tea and coffee with another two people who clearly felt awkward having to lean over our breakfasts to get their drinks. She was like a stressed out sergeant conducting a military operation. Despite staying in school summer holidays, it wasn't that full and I'm not surprised.
-breakfast was good -rooms clean and tidy - Staff are very nice and helpful would stay again 100%
Entertainment of an evening and bar facilities were good. Cleanliness of the beds. Definitely a dog owner hotel! Great if you have one but would not recommend otherwise.
Breakfast not of a good quality and when asked for more bacon for my son as he didn't have a full breakfast we were told no as there wasn't enough (although we know of at least two people who did not have their breakfast that day!) Had to wait around for service on one day for over 25 minutes would it not make more sense for self service of cereal? The toilet was not adequate for the amount of use over the week. The last two days there was an unpleasant smell coming from it.
Location for our purpose was good.
The parking facilities were extremely poor as there is not enough parking for customers and no one tells you when you book-in of the parking situation, which would have been helpful to understand the situation.
Location for town was good also car parking Good Breakfast and Bar Menu Well located to visit Eden Project Bus stops outside Hotel
Has bar with reasonable prices
Car park - small not enough space for number of rooms. Rooms although clean were very small no choice but to sit on bed.
Value for money, very clean. Enjoyed the breakfasts. Staff were excellent. Location pretty good. Short walk into Newquay but there is a convenient bus stop. Shops nearby as well. good place too stop
Bar area quite small for amount of guests. Be better if back room was open at nights as well. But only a small drawback and wouldn't stop us staying there again
Location was good as you were not near to the town and noise
Not booked in at reception just given the room key, the place is very dated, dining room more like a works canteen, only one lady serving breakfast and tables cluttered with used dishes, mattresses were knackered and padded with covers, bathroom floor covered with cork tiles and smelt of urine around toilet, no one on reception to checkout so just left keys, not worth £80.00 per night more like £40.00 for the two of us
Dogs allowed in the rooms. Internet not available in the room. Parking very tight.
Friendly staff, walkable distance into town
Noise late at night
The manage the hotel staff the cleaners, the welcome the friendly approach.
The noise from other guests and the pub and some of the male members of the bar staff
The place was nice and clean.the staff friendly and obliging. The food was nice, the bedrooms were tidy and clean.
We only spent one night there, but we werent to know that they allow stag and hen weekends to which we lost a nights sleep to which we complained to the owner. She could not apologise enough,my advice to anyone booking this place is 1st ask if there are any of these things going on,you can then decide if you want that sort of mayhem. There is nothing wrong with this hotel except for that clientel which they do not really need. ,
Breakfast staff was very nice
The price was to high for that smelly awful room.
Room was very clean and tidy Staff were very friendly and helpful The price was very reasonable The place was not too close the the town centre but only a 10 minute walk away. Only 5 minutes away for a walk to the beach The whole pleace was very clean and welcoming The breakfast was lovely
One neighbour on one of three nights was very noisy but didnt spoil my stay.
Would highly recommend this hotel. Staff were first class, friendly, helpful, nothing too much trouble. The room was spotless and breakfast was lovely, served quickly and no delay. Will definitely return here if we visit Newquay again. Thanks Godolphin Arms.
Walking distance to towns center good. Good parking spaces
Very friendly staff; good breakfast included.
Not a five-star accommodation but great given the price.
