Melissa was looking out for us and was really helpful in guiding the car parking. It is an unusually steep and narrow entrance so that was appreciated. We were given a warm welcome with tips about possible places to eat later. The room was pleasant and comfortable with a view over the loch. Breakfast was a good Scottish fry up. Melissa was friendly at every exchange and we met the chef (!) briefly too. We’d go again.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Ardlui Retreat.
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Ardlui Retreat. Perfect location with gorgeous view and it's not too far from the Lake site. The rooms were well maintained and felt comfortable. I slept so comfortably. As we like to cook our own food I felt the kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need. Staff were so helpful and did their best to help with anything we would need. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay especially my parents who were long way from home were overwhelmed with the beauty and hospitality. Would recommend staying here.

Excellent location, private second floor ensuite room with a view of the mountains and loch, very delicious breakfast. Easy check-in with a courteous receptionist. After leaving I realised whilst on my onward journey to Oban I'd left my phone charger in the room, I phoned the hotel and the staff very kindly reserved it for me to collect three days later.
Melissa and Paul were incredibly accommodating and generous. It was my birthday, and Melissa treated me to freshly cut flowers and a celebratory drink. The location is gorgeous and perfect for bagging several Munros—we did Ben Narnainne, Ime, and Vane—and our room offered a stunning view across Loch Long to the Cobbler. We love a cooked breakfast, and the additional pastries were a nice surprise. Melissa and Paul were able to fit an extra bed in our room so a friend could join us. We felt very well looked after.
Easy to get too, stunning views, pleasant and very kind staff. Last time I was at Arrochar it was when I was little with family holidays in the tent.
First time in the hotel.
I would like to mention some staff who were really kind and helpful.
James in the dining room really nice to talk too, and very helpful.
Analiese I hope I have spelled that correctly, oneaka and Collin all really nice people, I look forward to returning for another stay in the future.
We got the dinner bed and breakfast deal which was good value and the hotel is in a great location with amazing views. The staff were very efficient and friendly. We could have lived with the tired decor that other reviews have mentioned but unfortunately the beds in our twin room were very uncomfortable, with big dips in the middle that made it hard to get a good night's sleep. We would not stay at the hotel again for that reason. Shame!
From the moment we arrived and were met by Jackie we felt welcomed and comfortable.. She was absolutly fabulous as was Ian her boss. They could not have been more professional yet super friendly. All the staff were lovely and very willing to share info on where to visit and what was available at the hotel. We were very happy with the restaurant and the varied menu. The fact Ian remembered our previous days preferences was impressive .
Breakfast was fairly good with a choice of foods, the croissants were never fresh though. The evening meal was OK but very institutional catering for coach trips. There was a choice of menu but basic. No coffee offered after meals.
Hotel was in lovely setting and clean, however the hotel is tired and in need of a lot of modernisation. The windows were sealed shut so no ventilation in hot bedrooms or stairwells.
Great location for exploring Loch Lomond national park or munro bagging. Lovely views from most rooms. Easy to find hotel (though parking took us a little bit to figure out...). Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and breakfast staff was generally friendly and nice to talk with.
I really liked that we could choose our breakfast in advance and therefore could help limit wastage.
Everything. What a fantastic home in a beautiful area. Have been holidaying in Loch lomond for 20+ years, and this is by far the nest location i have stayed in.
Village inn down the road for bevy and a scran and plenty more bars/hotels and restaurants a 5/10min walk away. Fishing on the pier (caught 3 Mackeral no big deal guys).
Genuinely canny wait to come back.
A little gem, nestled on the northern banks of Loch Lomond. The chalet was beautifully presented with quirky touches with a Scottish flavour. Views of hills and Loch. Hotel with delicious food on site. Water-sport activities available in season. Five minutes to train station to access even more variety. Superb location to just relax or venture further afield.
Ideally situated next door to the Village Inn serving excellent food and listed in the Good Beer Guide,
Close to the Arrochar carparks for The Cobbler/Ben Arthur mountain route.
Nice view of Loch Long and the mountains through mature trees.
Anything you could possibly want provided.
Friendly hostess and good cooked breakfast with homemade jams.
Lovely room, very clean with a very large modern bathroom with a bath and shower. Beds were comfortable, staff were very helpful and friendly. Lots of areas to walk dogs which was a bonus. Plenty of bins to dispose of their waste. Arrochar is a lovely little place with Loch Long just over the road from the hotel.
The staff was nice especially the girl & boy that works in the restaurant for breakfast couldn't do enough for us . The entertainment was good but wouldn't have known there was going to be any entertainment on as it wasn't advertised anywhere in hotel .we just happened to be passing the lounge & heard it .
We found the hotel location an ideal starting point to head off into the west coast of Scotland. Our ground floor room whilst small was adequate and benefited with a view overlooking the Loch. The bed was comfortable and the self service buffet breakfast good. A warm and friendly team.
This place is fabulous! We loved everything about it. Close to a pub, a small grocery store, a fish & chips shop and right over Loch Lomond. The views were amazing and the place was beautifully decorated. Loved it so much!
House was great, very spacious and lovely decor. Great location, walking distance to Loch Lomond shore, pub and Slanj restaurant. Bernadette was very friendly and helpful, she also cooked a fantastic breakfast.
Lovely cottage, Equipped with everything needed for home from home stay, Great location as loch lomond and Arrochar close by with pubs/restaurants too. Would defo recommend and would book again.
an older hotel but comfortable and quiet. cute little single room with great hot water pressure!
the dining room staff were amazing. attentive and kind. breakfasts and pack lunch were great.
Very nice authentic hotel/pub. Good atmosphere and great location. Quiet road in front of hotel, view over the Loch Long. Cosy pub with good meals, nice staff.
