The sheets and pillowcases were covered in stains no one there to complain too in the morning
Very clean Helpful dtagg
Bed abit small
We were there for the Kate Bush concert and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was OK and the breakfast good (eggs were cooked in front of us)... For the price, it was perfect.
Great breakfast, awesome location, great value for money
Travelling solo The Golden Strand location made me comfortable walking around (even at night) and is only a 10 to 15 minute walk to Hammersmith Tube or Westfield Shopping Centre.
It is easy to get from Heathrow to the hotel. You get a quiet room with a working WiFi which is exactly what I want.
No personel at the hotel. The staff is at one of their sister hotels but shows up if you call for them.
Reasonable price. Rooms clean and adequate for our overnight stay
When we arrived we were told our rooms were in a different hotel and we would be taken to it by taxi, and were whizzed to one of their sister hotels. This wasn't a huge issue on this occasion (other than the fact that we had very tired children and it delayed our settling into the rooms), but when I stayed here on a previous occasion, I chose it specifically for proximity to a certain venue, where I was at a conference, and I would have been livid if this had happened on that occasion! Also, we asked for extra pillows as there was only one per person. The staff member grunted and looked irritated, told us he'd be back with some but didn't return! Breakfast was also a bit limited - poor choice of cereal, and just eggs and toast. I thought "continental breakfast" meant some fruit, pastries etc....it was a bit poor really!
Location convenient to two local underground stations for easy access to everything around London.
Access to downstairs room difficult with heavy luggage. Lock out upon arrival was disconcerting /signage unclear but staff helpful when available.
Size of the en suite, very small and I am a small guy!
Staff, location, cleanliness and fridge in room a plus for sure.
Room and bathroom small.
Great location close to Hammersmith tube station
Rooms a little dowdy. Old wardrobes one of which didn't open properly due to a disused plug socket in the way
Breakfast very good for money. Location outstanding for price.
Crack in mirror. hard to find staff to check in.
We enjoyed the location to green space, the underground, and the neighborhood feel.
No air conditioning, low water pressure
The location and the girls that made breakfast were friendly.
Room tiny, bed tiny, towels were wet when we checked in.
The staff was wonderful, the room clean and the location very convenient.
Toilet is clean. Breakfast is good. Bed is comfortable.
The room is so so so small that there is not even space to put our luggage. The bed completely takes up the whole room until there is no space at all to move for the person sleeping on the inside. The sized of the room is unbelievably small for a double room.
Breakfast was very nice location was great for our needs, good value for money.
noise overhead in middle of night and carried on for some time.
close to tube station
The hotel was a 4 minute was to the hammer smith metro. A lovely beakfast was severed by a chef in the morning.
The room was rather on the small side however, served it's purpose for the amount of time we spent in it. Remember to check in at the Saba sister hotel, it's a couple of doors up before you come to the golden strand.
Fantastic breakfast and friendly breakfast staff; use of communal kitchen added bonus, close to tube and bus stops, supermarket one block away, friendly local pub one block away.
"Manager" not always present, communal kitchen sometimes locked, smoke from patio drifts into rooms, poor quality soap and no shampoo provided
They gave us a room on the very top 3 floors with no lift. The room was in the attic, very small and very, very hot. It was cruelty to let someone sleep in the room! Staff are unfriendly and unkind. My other friends (couple) had their room downstairs, very small room, no window, hardly room to move. The city should be informed of the room condition. The hotel is owned and operated by Indians. We were charged US$ over hundred a night,we were there for 4 nights. We had to pay upon check-in. It was a terrible experiment that we will not forget.
Clean rooms, own key to get in at any time day or night!
Stayed in a room for 4 adults, bit cramped but for one night adequate!! No lock on bathroom door!
The staff was helpful. The breakfast room folks were okay, but could smile a bit more. They kept the rooms clean. Location is decent.
The rooms are too small, there is no lift and rooms can be up c. 60 steps, breakfast is meager with little choice. The limit was reached though when I asked for a second pillow and couldn't get one - for five days. I had to go out and buy my own. I guess this is all par for the course in London, which due to the massive congestion on sidewalks and roads, great expense even for basics, and widespread rudeness of the English natives, is way overrated as a desirable European destination. I went there for business purposes but won't be going again.
The room is small. We lived in two nights, but they did not provide gel and shampoo on the second day.
Staff tried to do everything they could to make things better. They are prompt, courteous, and efficient. (The breakfast room folks could smile more, but hey, they have to clean rooms after.) The location is pretty good in a not swarming area of London, near to the Underground at Hammersmith.
The rooms are painfully small and uncomfortable. While there is an en suite, I have to walk up about 70 steps to get to my room. No elevator. It's hot, cramped, basic - and one of the worst spaces I've inhabited ever. It's essentially a closet under the roof. But it's London and better spaces cost much more. (As it is, the prices here are outrageous.) I am glad I am leaving. Where does the money people spend around here come from?
