Set on the slopes of Ochil Hill, the 19th-century Broomhall Castle features charming rooms, some with four-poster beds. The historical city of Stirling is just 5 miles away.

Central position . Good food . Friendly staff
Please give travellers by car a post code of the street the car park leads off as the hotel post Code is to the front door and the Sat nav obviously leads you there.
Location, nice Bar and very efficient/friendly staff. hearty breakfast with good choice.
Quite a small room, but sufficient. excellent value considering the cost.
Restaurant food in the evening.very good Very pleased to see Stornoway black pudding on the breakfast menu. It is the best! Staff very friendly.
Whew only had a 2 night stay as a stop over on our way further North and the weather wasn't good enough to see as much as we'd have liked . As far as the hotel is concerned the only thing I didn't like was a view of the car park from our room!
nice room, great location, nice staff
breakfast could have been a bit warmer
I have been to hotel on a number of occasions great location wonderful staff
good location good price good staff .really like it.thank you for u all~
The Golden Lion is set in a very central location which is handy for shopping and sightseeing. It is next to the shopping centre yet is quiet. It is also close to the castle. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the Golden Lion to all.
On our last morning there seemed to be a slight problem with the breakfast when they ran short of some items.
central position large spacious rooms and private areas little dated but comforting for all this staff where very helpful and seemed to be enjoying there job
parking and finding carpark a nightmare
Service is good, food is good and they serve a good pint in the bar. Located in a nice central position.
I am not a fan of buffet breakfasts, lukewarm food that has been sitting a while. Food quality was fine though.
The location was excellent, staff were very helpful and pleasant, breakfast was very good. I would definitely go back.
Stirling one way system
Did everything to make my visit a good one.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location.
Trying to find the parking area was a bit of a nightmare.
Room facilities e.g iron and ironing board tea and coffee making facilities hairdryer and toiletries in the bathroom. Great breakfast with plenty choices
Nothing really except no wifi in bedrooms and the view from the window overlooking other buildings and noisy pigeons only to be expected in a city centre hotel.
The Team at the Golden Lion were great! We were allocated a lovely big room. Great value for money and will certainly return. Keep up the good work!
That our stay wasn't long enough:)
First room was a disgrace
Reception area lovely, excellent dinner and fantastic breakfast. Overall good value.
Bedrooms need updating. Very tired and grubby. Could be cleaner. Also heating not good enough, room was cold.
The location and the breakfast
The fact I'd called two weeks in advance of my stay to ensure I would be sleeping in a double bed, only to arrive to a room with two singles!
Location good and within easy walk of main sites and staff friendly. Hotel itself has character although needs a refurb but appeared clean enough and managed well.
Bed was like a plank of wood and that's from someone who likes a firm bed and while the bathroom was relatively new the room itself was tired. Car park was very busy and it's just plain luck whether you will get a space.
Centrally located, only 5-10 minute walk from train station, and located in a main thoroughfare, so plenty of shops, cafes etc nearby. (No street noise in the room - pretty good for a Saturday night stay in a town centre hotel!) Lovely, welcoming Reception area and friendly staff. Booking.com room rate was very fair and cheaper than lowest rate advertised in the hotel itself.
I managed to walk past the hotel twice, as the sign outside was obscured by the sign of the premises next door. A minor complaint overall though!
close to all amenities
Excellent location within city centre
Rooms in need of modernisation. Visible damp patches on the ceiling and bathroom requiring updating
no internet at the rooms
Bedroom was comfortable, a nice breakfast with good selection.
Our room had not been cleaned after our first night stay ,when we complained they only made the beds.
A loved the public rooms, the warm and friendly feeling of the place and the quality of the staff. The car park, although tricky to find makes the location in the center of things just great.
The rooms tend to be small and more than a bit cramped. The hotel obviously was not full. My advice to the hotel - never be afraid to upgrade whenever you can - it will pay back in spades.
