Lovely period property which was great for sightseeing, with attentive staff.
Room was just too hot with no control for the heating and windows were held closed with pieces of ribbon. Also on the first floor it is the owners accomodation and it felt a little odd having their personal affects and pictures on display but did not detract from our beautiful room. It is a great place but needs a little more attention to detail such as 2 big cobwebs in windows and empty used cosmetic bottles in under sink cabinet
The food was lovely and the room was great too, especially the giant bath. The major downside was being made to feel like a criminal for wanting to have a cigarette and we didn't need to be reminded several times about not smoking in the room.if you like privilege and the royal family and things like that you'll love it.
Hotel is amazing, interior is superb and set in beautiful surroundings. Met the hotel owners who were vey nice and passionate about the house. Staff couldnt do enough for us. Stayed in the Wharton Suite very lovely. Highly recommend and will defintley go back
Really enjoyed the en-suite spa bath. Stayed in the luxurious Hutton Suite, very relaxing and comfortable. A wonderful, quiet hotel and grounds to recharge the batteries. All the staff were very welcoming, they made every effort to attend to our needs. Can't wait to return!
Nice place good ambienance Food was good
Felt we were an inconvenience . We were told to vacate an hour earlier at checkout time as had a Wedding on.Could not find anyone to say which table we were on for evening meal had to Go and find someone as they were all chatting in kitchen.Same thing happened at breakfast time Bearing in mind there was four of Us and probably only another four People all weekend and plenty of staff we were neglected and had paid a decent price for the weekend.Bed was so hard and lumpy had to buy a duvet.Locked out a couple of times and person who let u back in about4-30 in afternoon was irritated about having to let us in.
We were made to feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Stefan looked after us during our stay and he was delightful. Attentive but not intrusive. Goldsborough Hall is full of old world charm and charming staff. We are looking forward to taking afternoon tea there in the not too distant future.
Everything, but I praise every member of staff who showed genuine interest in making our stay so enjoyable. Wonderful meal in the evening and such great courteous table service.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, made to feel very welcome, excellent service provided by all members of your staff, would definitely recommend 10/10
The staff were friendly and attentive . The food was excellent . The room well stocked I loved having fresh milk , a lovely jar of biscuits and lots of lovely magazines ..
There were fewer staff on in the morning which meant longer time waiting to be served and to check out. Although they were friendly and courteous.
The location and building are magnificent. The staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful. The food was beautifully presented and excellent quality. I felt like the Lord of the Manor for a day.
The room was nice but needed a little care and attention. (Grout, sealant general maintenance attention to detail)
An extremely comfortable and welcoming place. My only tiny criticism might be that the 'amuse bouche' during the slightly over complicated dinner are a little over generous! We hope to return for a longer visit.
The room was lovely and warm, nice deco, and a wonderful jaccuci.
The bed was a bit hard to sleep on
This was the best hotel we have experienced. First class rooms and facilities. Wonderful food and exceptionally friendly and efficient staff. Beautiful gardens and central location. It really could not be improved upon.
Great Accommodation and fantastic quality of food both breakfast and evening meal! Staff great, Goldsborough is a hidden gem! We have friends local who joined us on Friday for a meal. They have already booked to take friends next Friday! Great to have good coffee in the room and fresh milk in the mini bar" (free)
No Rooms available to extend our stay. Would have loved to enjoy a second, first class evening meal. Shower in room was modern but totally impractical!
Our room was lovely, big and had everything we needed. We were thinking of booking our wedding there so saw most of the rooms and they were all beautiful. The grounds are lovely and the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating.
nothing. All good. just gutted I didn't have time to sample the afternoon tea. We might be back closer to Christmas for that.
The staff were very welcoming, the buildings and grounds look amazing.
The breakfast was very expensive and they didn't have wifi.
Our night at Goldsborough was relaxing. The grounds, house and restaurant were wonderful
Enormous bed; beautiful library, dining room, lounge and fantastic location.
Having to leave.......
Staff were excellent. Friendly and efficient. Really nice room with excellent en suite.
It being privately owned and intimate
We had a lovely warm welcome, the staff were all very friendly and the food was outstanding. They went out of their way to provide tea/coffee and fresh made shortbread for us since we couldn't leave the Hotel until the roads reopened after the Tour De France (not that anyone would ever want to leave).
Staff were top class... We arrived late and the chef stayed late to make us a wonderful meal. The food was superb, the setting was exceptional and it was made to feel like we were in a very special place indeed. The room was excellent along with the fittings. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone lucky enough to get a room and will certainly chose to stay there again.
Very high standards of excellence throughout.
The location was idyllic; the staff were friendly; the food was absolutely divine.
The waterfall shower.
Wonderful stay, staff very friendly , accomadation superb
