Score from 132 reviews Very good
Pleasant décor and surroundings.
Poor natural light in the room due to very small window area, the room was also very cold [Heating system not running], but the Staff quickly provided an Electric heater. Pillows generally uncomfortable.
Hotels façade is impressive. Staff were very friendly. Room was clean and well designed.
room could have had a better outlook as hotel was very quiet at time of my visit. This may have been because I was on my own and occupying a double room. dining room had no windows and a bit claustrophobic.
Location Food Huge TV Comfortable Bed
Room was great, good parking, decent Wifi, quiet and a good comfortable bed. Breakfast was also nice.
Not sure on the deal with the restaurant, wasn`t clear whether it was open as there never seemed to be anyone in it, so I ate elsewhere!
Good central location and quiet. Lots of free parking.
Some décor looking a little tired and could do with a spruce up.
Location was good for our needs and the hotels ample car park allowed stress free parking. Food in restaurant was good.
Shower didn't drain well so ended up paddling. Some elements of the hotel were tatty, a cracked glass in window fixed with clear bathroom filler! Yellow seat on white toilet suite! Think they had employed blind painters in the restaurant.
Cleanliness Tired decor

Staff. Pricing of food & drink in bar good
A little tired & in need of some tlc
Friendly staff , location.
Updating the dining room was not told this , Paid £99.00 for one night . Noisy early hrs of Monday morning by other guests.
Staff friendly and welcoming. Beds comfortable, good shower. Inside of hotel recently refurbished, lots of seating areas.
Bedroom dark, small window, needs bright paint. Basin in bathroom too small. TV too large for room. Decoration in bedroom a bit tatty. Poor dining room and dinner menu. Breakfast choice very limited. Not 3 star standard.
Bedrooms were well decorated and comfortable.
The Hotel hallways restaurant and bathrooms are 'tired'. The small details were overlooked.
Attractive hotel situated in a well kept village with plenty to see and do.
A well appointed hotel which looks as if parts have been recently refurbished. Main public areas are impressive but more works needs to be done to make it stand out e.g. windows are metal in the bedroom we had and needs replacing and the bathroom could have done with lick of paint in places.
staff extreamly friendly nothing to much trouble. lovely room very spacious, even travel cot was set up with fresh linen in it and duvet clover and a clean towel over end
Comfort ,, lovely huge TV in room. Excellent staff and food, decor inside v modern .i hope the owner the lovely MRS Patel can give regular residents( Like I Will be) a small discount
Can't think of anything ,
Breakfast and the gentleman serving was very helpful and accommodating.
Showerhead above not clean, and the door of the shower kept falling out of the runner. The hotel was in the middle of being refurbished. They will not let you book in at all before 3pm even though the hotel was not full. Because of a weekend of activities the bar was not stocked up with beers so unable to buy any.
Large bed Friendly staff
Breakfast room rather 'canteen-like' House keeping came in during breakfast, despite us checking out that morning - I wander whether the rubbish bin was cleared and towels were replaced again?
Great breakfast Lovely big bed and massive telly work in progress but definealtely worth a visit
Helpful staff. Great location.
There was nothing to dislike.
Only stayed the one night (27th June 2014) and was mightily impressed the moment I walked through the door. From the outside the hotel looks very run-down and the carpark needed updating. I did note a lot of workmen around the front of the building and it was quite obvious that a great deal of renovation work was in progress. But once I walked through the old-fashioned porch doors I was quite surprised to see a thoroughly clean & modern reception area much like you get in the more expensive hotel chains like Hilton & Ramada etc. The reception staff were extremely polite & helpful and check-in was a dream. Following the directions to my room I walked past the restaurant and other seating areas and again, very modern and simple. My room (Rm 3) was lovely with a view of the front gardens. A cracking size Panasonic TV and the usual comforts one expects nowadays with Tea/Coffee making facilities and an en-suite bathroom & shower. I did find the lighting within the room to be darker than I expected and after having a shower I would normally draw the curtains etc, but on this occasion (due to the poor, in my opinion, lighting) I had to leave the curtains partially open. However, there were net curtains so that would hopefully (from the ouside) remove any embarrassment. The shower was very powerful but extremely controllable. Very user friendly. Although, on this occasion, I was dining elsewhere I did have a quick look at the restaurant and dinner menu. Again, quite impressed at the choice for both 2 or 3 courses. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. I didn't fancy a Full English but gave my requirements to the Hostess who was happy to accommodate me. Checking out was just as easy as arrival and I even had a natter with the owners. I will definitely stay there again.
Room lighting was poor.
lovely bathroom comfy bed large tv great shower nice decor
noisy fan in bathroom
Hotel interior and room Breakfast Location
Bathroom needs attention Grounds Hotel exterior
Quiet location, pleasant grounds, friendly reception, excellent breakfast, very clean and large, comfortable rooms and good value for money.
The hotel is a little past its prime with an air of faded glory - but this was reflected in the price, which was very reasonable.
