Score from 487 reviews Good
location easily accessible. Staff very helpful restaurant and breakfast excellant
leisure centre a bit dated, run down changing rooms need serious work
Spa was rather dated and the lady running it was ignorant.
We had 2 rooms of which both had very creaky floorboards and so did both rooms above us
Comfy beds! Good wifi Nice staff!!!!
limited food menu!
Portion size in the restaurant were real good
bathroom could have been cleaner
Readiness of staff to adapt to another service if colleague temporarily absent.
Inadequate anti-slip in bath and absence of grip bars.
Location facilities quality of rooms and friendliness of staff
Clean and spacious room
Poor view and rather bland Italian food.
The surroundings were nice! The rooms were clean and well equipped (ironing board, etc.)
The service at dinner was comic, the waiter coudnt open a wine bottle. The WiFi was not working at several occasions. The gym was the worst ever, several machines were broken and the ones workíng probably bought in the nineties??
Full length mirror in room Pillows were stained and bed was a biit small and not realty that comfy Could of with a blind in our bathroom Otherwise decor was nice and do was the bathroom
On the face of it a nice looking hotel with attractive rooms and well stocked bathroom
Swelteringly hot bedroom in the evening made it impossible to sleep. You can't open the windows more than a fraction and have to choose between keeping the blinds closed or flashing people as they walk down the corridors. Poor design. Breakfast was a shambles with a constant lack of glasses/juice and rude staff who don't bother to serve tea or coffee unless asked.
The rooms were clean & had tea/coffee facilities
Staff were very rude & quite sharp with us it was booked as a wedding gift by my parents & they should have saved there money in all honesty not even given a complimentary chocolate least of all good manners.
Breakfast was overpriced and warm as opposed to hot.
The way the hotel managed a large group of 35 eating in the restaurant was excellent. Great food, super breakfast. Great ambience in bar and restaurant. very conveniently situated for the wedding we went to at Oakwell Hall.
The fact the white wine was warm and when I complained the staff said it had been chilled for half an hour!!!! They had no colder wine available so ebded up putting ice cubes in it. Not acceptable. Shower difficult to adjust.
It was very close to Oakwell Hall, where we were going to see an outdoor play. Oakwell Hall itself was very interesting. The Red House in Gomersal village was very interesting. The Old Silk Mills antiques and restaurant was very good value.
Nobody in the hotel had even heard about the play, even though it was taking place about a mile away. When we supplied them with leaflets about it, they promptly removed them. In a rural area, one would expect that everyone would know what was happening locally and help to promote it.
The location and facilities were excellent and we had a relaxing stay.
In the bathroom no loo roll holder, just loo rolls stacked on the shelf behind.
The location, the room size.
The price of the breakfast was exorbitant for a very mediocre menu and poor service. My husband ordered porridge and then waited 20 minutes but it didn't come. When he asked where it was, the waitress had forgotten to bring it so it was not hot and actually not edible. He had to wipe the outside of the bowl himself.
The room was very bright and comfortable. Very clean and good extras. Nice white fluffy towels, good tea and coffee tray. Food in restaurant very nice and staff very friendly.
Bathroom could be a bit more modern to match rest of room. Probably why its just a three star hotel.
It wa convenient for us as we were attending a funeral in the area
Pillows - two were too much, one was not enough, otherwise a nice room
The hotel, room ant Italian restaurant was great..
The Spa was a major let down... We booked this night away on the basis it was a spa hotel... the spa is very very tired.....
Lovely room...very nicely furnished.
Recently very tastefully refurbished room with lovely view of hotel gardens. Enjoyed a visit to the swimming pool.
Very small 'double' bed. Noisy fan in bathroom that went on for ages
The breakfast was very good and the bar staff were friendly and attentive in the evening. The Wi-Fi worked well.
The TV didn't work - the receptionist said there was a button underneath it but we could not find it and the on/off button on top did nothing. The headboard did not appear to be attached to the bed and banged every time you moved.
good size room nicxe location
small bed no wifi information expected luxury from the £1100 a night price tag, we paid £79 which we though was a bargain and expected an amazing hotel, but its no better than a good city hotel
Average hotel. Comfortable enough room. OK for an overnight stay.
Buffet breakfast. Servery was a mess. Sausages were horrible.Tea - undrinkable, out of a flask!!! Baked beans were congealed and don't even start me on the solid scrambled eggs.... The extra half hour in bed would have been more enjoyable.
