Attractive building both in and out and although by a busy road we couldn't hear the traffic. We had a problem of our making in the room and the hotel staff dealt with it immediately; very efficient. Location was amazing and a big bonus being able to park the car En suite superb, but next to no hot water pressure, and never better than lukewarm; awful at this time of year.l thought breakfast was overpriced, staff in dining room very unfriendly, watching smileless, hovering over us virtually taking plates before we had finished and generally an unpleasant experience. |

The room was indeed quiet despite being in the center and the room was big. Breakfast was a bit slow and overpriced. |

Location. Close to the city centre. The hotel is in serious needs of redecoration. The water pressure of the taps was so low, I used the tub to was hands. Breakfast is overpriced for what's on offer. All in all, I do consider the value proposition of the hotel quite low. |

Rooms were clean and appropriately furnished. Breakfast was acceptable. Parking was sufficient. Location was convenient and even quite appealing as it looked out over Parker's Piece. Too hot: room temperature control and ventilation need to be addressed. I asked for help from staff over this issue but still wasn't really helped properly. Breakfast was only just acceptable and over-priced. Generally, the hotel was over-priced, for what it is, even with the discount which I was able to access. |

The hotel was within easy walking distance of the City Centre. The room was comfortable and there was sufficient parking. The staff were affable enough. We didn't eat there and therefore cannot comment on the food. The accommodation generally was pleasant. I thought that it was expensive for what it was;. our stay did not include the breakfast option. The waste bin in the bathroom had not been emptied before our arrival and there was a gungy stain on the bathroom floor - it turned out to be glue, which could not be removed. The housekeeper dealt with this professionally. My bed sheet was torn, but again it was attended to. These are minor niggles and did not detract from the pleasure of our stay. |

Its position is good and it was quiet. The room itself was spacious enough for a short stay. That breakfast was not includued in the price. £12.70 per head for those wanting only cereals and a drink is too dear. |

Leaving! Everything was fine until departure. Bill was incorrect - £300+ rather than £176 (Room cost had been paid in advance. Bill should have been for one meal at a cost of £21). Receptionist's attitude was abrupt, unhelpful and rude. The delay cause me to be one hour late for an important conference. |

I liked the location, it was very central and I also liked the fact that it had loads of parking It was not clean, there were cobwebs in the room and it was dusty. The room was outdated and the bar service and staff was poor. |

It's location We have stayed at the Gonville many times but this time we were most disappointed. We found that your reception staff were not very accommodating ie we asked to settle our account the evening before our departure early the next day. She really did not want to do it, she said what about if you require anything else which we took offence at as there was a suggestion that we would have something ie breakfast without paying. We had already decided not to eat at the hotel when we saw the prices which we thought were exorbitant. |

We loved the breakfast at the hotel restaurant. One of the clarks at the front desk could speak Japanese, and she was very kind and helpful. Bathrooms had a plumbing problem. The water pressure of the shower was too low. The toilet sometimes did not work. |

The bartender was very nice, compared with the rest of the staff. The location is very good, in walking distance of the city centre. The staff, they couldn't find the 2 twin rooms which I booked at the airport and kept me waiting for more than half an hour before they found 1 double and 1 twin room. Breakfast was not included in the price and that made it all overpriced. Somebody ate already from the cookies in our room. Under my nighttable I found some old plastic cup, probably not cleaned for a long time. |
