It was quiet and and clean. The furnishing was adequate although quite basic.
76 stairs to my room and I was slightly worried that there was only one staircase which could have compromised safety in the event of fire. Breakfast room was cramped although breakfast OK. I wonder whether, as I arrived late and it didn't seem busy, whether they couldn't have offered a room upgrade? A net curtain on the window would have been good given that the room was overlooked by offices with people working therein.
Location is great and quite. Good wifi and good bed.
The room was cold and next to the reception so very noisy.
separate doors to hotel made this a very quite place to stay. Good place if you dont want the large hotel feel.
lobby was being renovated and paint footprints up the stairs. Improvements being made didnt detract from stay much.
location and it was different
A bit spartan...but goodenough
It was nicely positioned in a quiet square. It felt less like a hotel and more like a club or being in one's own flat. I was in No. 25 two doors up fr reception and it was very quiet. Good sized room and well furnished. I was upgraded for free (good welcome as well at reception) to a higher grade single which had a (small) double bed and it was spacious enough to feel comfortable moving round. Breakfast was very good with fresh food and natural options such as smoked salmon through to plain oats. Excellent coffee and very helpful staff. I didn't try full breakfast in the Great Hall - next visit if I have more time.
Whilst I wasn't bothered by this, with windows slightly open the sashes were rattling a bit. Location wise it was a little bit further to walk from the tube than other options but quiet location made up for it.
Its in a quiet area so sleeping is no problem , the staff were really helpful and polite, the bed was comfortable, the sheets were crisp and clean, the room was well equipped. The hotel breakfast was generous
The breakfast was a bit cold, there is no lift
Receptionists were very very nice and kind. I liked the white facade of the building.
My room didn't have a tab, which I gave for granted for a 4s, though I'm obviously wrong. The bathroom didn't have any heating at all, or perhaps some centralised ventilation system only, so that it was impossible to find it warm in the morning before showering. And tiny bathroom too. At about 11pm I felt cold-ish in the room, hence to my surprise had to observe that the radiator had gone cold - to be precise the radiator tap was open but clearly the centralised heating had been turned off. Forget working at the desk at night, at least if you like to be warm. Breakfast presented two options: one straight under reception, the other in college. I always went for the first option because don't like to walk in and out - otherwise imho don't pay for hotel breakfast and just find yourself a Caffe Nero! The breakfast I had was very very tiny, certainly not the selection you'd expect from a 4s. I don't know about college breakfast. Hence I found £130/night x single occupant way too high.
Staff, refectory, comfort
Could not stand under low shower
The possibility to have brunch and/or breakfast at the Goodenough college. That was really something extra.
The room was situated below street level. We would have prefered a room with a window with open air outside.
Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. We travelled with an infant, they were extremely helpful. Access to London house and its garden is lovely.
Simply WOW. Stunning lounge great ambience, well decorated and spotlessly clean throughout. Very comfortable bed too.
A shame breakfast was served in the college refectory and not in the great hall. Well it was New Years Day after all.
We loved the location. Perfectly situated in London to make the most of the attractions as tube station is so close by. The bed was super comfy we had a great night sleep and the mini fridge was really handy!
A couple of loose tiles in the bathroom but that's all I can think of.
The upgrade to a much better room. The staff could not have been more helpful. If, however, the hotel had been fully booked and we HAD to stay in the room we had paid for we would have been extremely disappionted. Having breakfast in the Hall was amazing - absolutely delightful. The location was excellent near to buses and walking distance of seve tourist attractions
The room was very dissappointing - in the basement - so although good size it was below street level therefore dark and unwelcoming However I went back to reception and "complained" nicely and we were given a beautiful room (upgrade) overlooking the gardens
Good staff,clean room
Expected Victorian style hotel not a modern box of a bedroom with windows on to wall. Separate building for breakfast.very over priced
Very welcoming staff excellent location excellent facilities for breakfast beautiful room upgrade
Very nice and helpful staff (who even proposed a suite instead of one of the rooms… ), very nice rooms and a wonderful suite, excellent location. It's a really charming hotel, we will certainly come back to the Goodenough Club with great pleasure!
position cleanliness and courtesy of stall
room a little small
Loved the location, staff, hotel, great-hall-style breakfast
The bed was very soft which always makes me feel like I'm suffocating.
Quiet, good location, very good breakfast, good facilities
My room needed better attention to plumbing (sink was somewhat blocked).
All plus food
very quiet area- 10 min walk from the tube
Not a lot!
It was December 6th with freezing temperatures and the room had no heating on. We turned on the radiator which didn't heat up the room before we went out. When we got back around midnight the heating was again off! Room freezing as it was more of a chalet outside of the hotel. At £160 a night the heating should have been on being as they where expecting us! Staff very dismissive. When we asked where we go for breakfast the man said the brick building outside! Bare in mind this was London with LOTS of brick buildings! Also on arrival we where not shown to our rooms we had to find it ourselves trekking outside over a wooden bridge.
Central London location. Quiet street. Comfortable
The friendly and helpful staff, great location, good breakfast in the great hall. Reminded us of our student days.
