Staff were very good. Room was very basic and poor. Toliet system not working so needed to change rooms. Second room had heaps of dust all around and smelt dirty. |

Beautiful building in convenient location; my room was wonderful - light, airy, clean and spacious. I booked this hotel because of a special deal of £29 for the night and it was extremely good value for money. I will definitely look out for these deals again. |

Quiet, rural surroundings. Convenient for my needs.No interruptions from noisy guests. There were noticeable damp patches on the walls and ceilings of both the bedroom and bathroom which need attention. |

The check in procedure and friendliness of reception staff. The restaurant staff need more training. The menu was lacking in variety and the meal was of poor standard and certainly not worth the cost. |

Good surroundings, excellent food and a comfortable room. We got the impression that we were welcome and that the staff were glad to help. Overall, very good value and all the facilities we'd expect in a three star hotel. |

Breakfast waiting staff very helpful and friendly Very poor facilities in room - no air con, no mini bar, only 5 channels on tv, poor choice of toiletries, tea tray kept on the floor in a cupboard, no map of fire exits, reported maintenance issues not resolved, etc. |

Rooms and facilities were clean and well painted Bedrooms were very small and difficult to move around. The description was 'superior double' but that is not what they were in the attic rooms. Eggs were not prepared or available for breakfast (this was after 0730 am) and then after a request for scrambled they eventually came. Later on my daughters had breakfast and again complained about the availability of eggs dishes |

The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was superb. The price was excellent. The grounds and house itself were charming. The 'standard' room we were given (in an annex) had a paper-thin wall, completely unsoundprooofed. We could hear the music from the guests next door and even when they were talking to each other! |

I had been double booked and wasn't informed of this until I had a phone call at about 14:30; if I had been going directly to the hotel for check in time, this would have been very inconvenient. |

Excellent location, good quality room. Food was great. Lack of basic items in the room such as shampoo / shower gel etc. Room was quite dark but then we weren't there during the day! |

Very attractive grounds, good accommodation, excellent food, friendly staff. The hotel advertises the existence of a gym and a heated outdoor swimming pool. Neither were available. |

Beautiful grounds - played croquet and putting! Breakfasts very good. (A shame the swimming pool wasn't usable but we understand that there are plans to renovate or provide another.) |

The setting and location. The gardens are very nice. Some of the guests returned in the early hours (3am?) on the Sunday and were very inconsiderate and noisey. |
