The bathroom was tiny, there was a window that looked out onto the smoking area, which is a bit strange when you are getting ready and people are sitting out side your window. And the continental breakfast was left out all night, which included a yogurt, which I didn't eat.
The room was clean and comfy and the staff helpful. although the breakfast was left outside all night it was a nice breakfast apart from the yogurt.
Extractor fan very noisy in the en-suite shower room; basin waste partially blocked (slow draining)
All staff were excellent, so was the food.
Nice room, comfortable bed, good atmosphere in CJ's bar
The staff were a little 'offhand', they seemed quite busy running the bar side of the business as well. The bedside drawers still had stuff left in there by a previous guest, including a half finished packet of biscuits!
I liked the decor and the setting was atmospheric. It was nice and quiet, the main window overlooked the graveyard and church! The breakfast was well cooked and tasty in the bar downstairs.
Old wooden bed, headboard fell off when I sat on it. If been sleeping would of smashed our faces.weighed about 20 kg.nothing quaint about a 1930 ish bed in an alleged 14th century house.
Young guy came in specially to make our breakfast early.0800 or we had to wait until cafe opening at 1000.
We had a room at the rear which was peaceful apart from the Church clock which did not bother us but may be an issue for some. Parking is either on street chargeable from 9am to 5pm ( 1 hour max) or by local car park chargeable from 8am to 6pm.
Centrally Located, Compact but sufficient room, Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast
We arrived to an issue with the boiler which was quickly rectified. The staff are warm, welcoming and really made our stay a great experience. The attached bar/cafe provide the breakfast which was excellent as we're the other meals we enjoyed here. We will definitely stay here again.
Staff were very friendly and we had a very good breakfast
I didn't like the street lamp that is directly outside the bedroom window - unfortunately it was on all night and created a glow around the (otherwise perfect) very dark curtains. A real shame as it lit up the room all night!
We stayed in the biggest room of all of them, so very spacious - the en-suite is massive with a good sized shower and gorgeous roll top bath. The bed was exceptionally comfy, I am short so it was absolutely fine but anyone over 5ft 7" may get cold toes!
We stayed in the Sackville Room yesterday. This room is absolutely gorgeous with its four poster bed, roll top bath and fab shower in the spacious en suite and beautiful furniture throughout. The breakfast was lovely and just what we needed to set us up for a day at Hever Castle and 200 mile journey home today. The staff were great and very helpful. Thank you all for making my birthday a memorable one and stress free :-)
the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was cooked with fresh local ingredients and beautifully presented.
A really comfortable cozy b&b
Good for lingfield racing. Everything you need is nearby.
Lack of fuss free car parking facilities and furniture or the like being dragged around (in the downstairs area) in the very early hours of the morning.
The room was exactly what was required for our stay and the restaurant was also ideal. Good service all round.
Good but small room, nice view of the church, very good bacon and egg .
Window opens onto pub outside drinking area which could be embarrassing in the summer with late drinkers sitting outside
Well positioned in town centre.
Parking was difficult. We paid to park in the church car park until 6pm and left the car there overnight. We had to move the car by 8 am and you cannot return for an hour. Made life difficult as breakfast is not served until 10am when CJ's opens.
lovely quiet, clean and bright room, right on the High Street with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops just outside the property.
The accommodation is over a Wine Bar and music can be heard in the room. We were told that the bar would close at !0.00 p.m. but some form of music continued for some time afterwards, although not too bothersome. Behind the bedroom, and on the same level, is a big outside seating area and I would not like to be in the bedroom at any time when this was being used because of the subsequent noise which would be present.
Room and staff, plus the breakfast were very good.
Excellent location. Very good breakfast.
My wife thought bed was uncomfortable but I thought it okay.
Superior double room at front was well decorated and bathroom superb.
Although it did not bother us on this occasion because of the time of year, the window of the room immediately overlooks an outside patio area and potentially customers using this outside drinking/eating area would be inches from you. Impossible to pull the curtains back or open the window. Would not stay again in that room for this reason. This facility is actually a few rooms above a cafe/restaurant and it would seem no staff are there over night. I would not really call it a "hotel".
Quirkiness and style of building and room, central location in East Grinstead. Breakfast was good.
that there were no staff available past 7pm
Lovely location friendly staff and excellent food
Shame the cafe closed early, I would have liked to try it out.
