All of it! The food was wonderful and the chef went out of his way to cater for dietary requirements that were a little out of the ordinary. Much appreciated. The rooms were fine: one of us had a 'quirky' room in the original building: this was greatly enjoyed. 2 of us had a room in the new portion and this too was just right. The staff were friendly and efficient.

    Nothing!

Character and atmosphere of building. Food excellent. Staff good and tried to do their best at all times. Owners made you feel welcome when arriving and leaving.

Internet connection poor. Toilet flush not working correctly.

The location is quite remote, which is exactly what me and my partner wanted. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable.

The food wasn't the best, our evening meal was quite over cooked which was disappointing. Although the breakfast was lovely!

The location is excellent and the hotel has a lot of character We were there to attend a party, for which the food was very good.

The bedroom was small for the price, and the corridor outside had a very odd smell - I think it was musty. Breakfast was ok but rather "corporate" in that it was the sort of breakfast you'd get in thousands of hotels up and down the country; it lacked any sort of imagination. My husband asked for half a grapefruit at breakfast and was given a huge soup spoon to eat it with! There was secondary double glazing in our ground floor room and it was hard to open the (grubby) window, and no way of locking it open

Have been to stay before in 1983, and I loved it then and still do now. It was so lovely to drive into my favourite Welsh Village and find the Hotel hadn't changed a bit from the outside. Most of inside was how I remember it also.

    Leaving!

Professional staff and great location for a peaceful stay. Lovely food

Very limited Wifi which was an issue for me as I was here on business. A TV in the bar would've been nice or in the snook off reception.

Wonderful location. Friendly welcome for us and our two labradors who were given a treat each. Lovely spacious room (Eagles) with nice bathroom. WiFi worked perfectly in the room. Fantastic food served in lounge bar so dogs could stay with us. Breakfast served in reception area so that we could keep the dogs with us. Large enclosed garden at the rear. Our eldest dog Alice did not want to leave when the time came to go home. She laid down in reception and said "no I like it here I think I will stay".

Our only slight critisism is that the garden is not quite 100% dog proof as there are two openings on one side where they can get out onto the car park or the road. We were spoilt on the first night with such a perfect dinner that the rest of the food did not quite live up to that michalin star standard but it was still excellent

The people were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was quiet (midweek) so I was upgraded. The entrance hall area was very welcoming with a huge old fireplace and roaring fire - so I was able to sit there and feel very cosy. The bar and lounge also had open fires. My room was very comfortable with a modern shower. The food was very tasty - but expensive.

1- restaurant food expensive 2- restaurant very cold ( no fire or radiators) This made it a lot less cosy than the rest of the hotel - and there was only one other set of people staying - so it would have been better for us to have been served in the cosy lounge area instead. This goes for breakfast too - it was even colder in the morning !! The lack of mobile signal - and unreliable internet could be a problem for some people. It was rather frustrating for me on this particular occasion - as I needed to liaise with someone on an important issue. I feel that if WiFi could be offered in the rooms as well - then that would solve the issues.

The location is lovely, the hotel is cosy and full of character. The staff are all very pleasant. We stayed in a very basic room, but this was due to booking at the last minute on a very cheap rate. It would be interesting to see the character rooms, and we would book one of these if we stayed again.

Unfortunately our bar meal in the evening was not great. We did mention it at the time. The mash was too mustardy and the fish cakes were too herby. The salad had way too much oily dressing that tasted of nothing much. Breakfast was OK, but the haddock was cooked in the microwave and was cold and underdone.

Fantastic hideaway in the Welsh countryside. Not only were the staff in the Hotel friendly, but everybody in the village. Would definitely go back.

Atmosphere was good. Log fires, big arm chairs . Rooms were good and the food was FAB. Staff friendly and attentive. We had a great stay. Thanks

Real Ale could've been a bit better looked after. Small point only.
