Located just outside the small Welsh village of Chirk, on the Wales-England border, Morton Park Hotel offers free on-site parking and is only a 10 minute drive from Wrexham city center.

awesome local food, very nice atmosphere of a 400year old hotel
tough to get there...
Very good food - both in the evening and breakfast. Comfy very good value bedroom. Will definitely go again.
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. All were polite and charming and seemed to work very hard. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was fabulous and reasonable in price. The location is stunning.
In the Chaffeur suite the shower curtain is too long and could easily be shortened. It is a trip hazard. The shower head has a mind of its own and sprays everywhere and the loo seat needs replacing.
What a gem! An unexpected pleasure in the heart of some amazing countryside! The hotel is historic full of atmosphere and charm. The welcome was superb and the service brilliant. The room was full of character the food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Having to leave.
Warm welcome, cozy old-world charm, great menu - definitely going to return for a long weekend.
Great olde fashioned pub/hotel with plenty of character in a beautiful Welsh village, right next to the river. Good evening atmosphere and breakfast.
We wanted a country hotel/inn, with open fires, good food and cosy atmosphere and thats what we got with an abundance of peace and quiet. Inside the West Arms, we found the traditional 'olde worlde' style of decor and cosy seating in a variety of little rooms with inglenook fireplaces. The staff were all friendly offering advice on local walks and attractions. The food was delicious, a little more than we would usually pay, but it was quality and very tasty. We both agreed we had the best sleep in a long time! Very comfy beds - fabulous! If you dont mind the lack of phone signal, [and there is none] then this place is highly recommended.
Liked everything, staff food, services, would recommend to anyone had a wonderful break and would certainly go back give it 10/10 wonderful little place!
Everything wonderful nothing to dislike
The Food, Hospitality & Service at the West Arms Hotel are first class!
The access roads can be tricky!
Style of building & decor, staff, tranquility, scenery, location, Dinner and breakfast.
Slightly noisy heating pipe in room 12
perfect hotel for weekend escape. The staff were so friendly and informative.
wifi is not available in a room. Got some works- delayed.
Friendly staff. Attention to detail. Staff were attentive and extremely knowledgable about the inn, the history and the area . Great stay and have already booked for a return visit
Nothing at all...
On arrival we had a lovely welcome and that set the tone. Warm comfortable room, fantastic bath all very clean. Dinner was an experience with beautifully served food. Breakfast equally good. No mobile signal! Lovely! A proper holiday - shame it was only one night.
Wine merchant needs to up his game, but still not bad.
Peaceful friendly setting to relax and watch the sunset.
The quirkiness of the place. Friendly staff.
Minimal restaurant menu. Although the bar menu was more extensive you could not eat from this in the restaurant. This meant the bar was full of diners and the restaurant empty.
Great old in ,excellent food , good for walks, peace and quiet.....Middle of nowhere lovely
Noisy bathroom , water pump ....
Very Friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent restaurant and food. Great breakfast.
Bath only No Shower and noisy Saniflo macerator
All of it! The food was wonderful and the chef went out of his way to cater for dietary requirements that were a little out of the ordinary. Much appreciated. The rooms were fine: one of us had a 'quirky' room in the original building: this was greatly enjoyed. 2 of us had a room in the new portion and this too was just right. The staff were friendly and efficient.
Character and atmosphere of building. Food excellent. Staff good and tried to do their best at all times. Owners made you feel welcome when arriving and leaving.
Internet connection poor. Toilet flush not working correctly.
The location is quite remote, which is exactly what me and my partner wanted. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable.
The food wasn't the best, our evening meal was quite over cooked which was disappointing. Although the breakfast was lovely!
Lovely area, very quiet, staff friendly,
The location is excellent and the hotel has a lot of character We were there to attend a party, for which the food was very good.
The bedroom was small for the price, and the corridor outside had a very odd smell - I think it was musty. Breakfast was ok but rather "corporate" in that it was the sort of breakfast you'd get in thousands of hotels up and down the country; it lacked any sort of imagination. My husband asked for half a grapefruit at breakfast and was given a huge soup spoon to eat it with! There was secondary double glazing in our ground floor room and it was hard to open the (grubby) window, and no way of locking it open
Have been to stay before in 1983, and I loved it then and still do now. It was so lovely to drive into my favourite Welsh Village and find the Hotel hadn't changed a bit from the outside. Most of inside was how I remember it also.
Professional staff and great location for a peaceful stay. Lovely food
Very limited Wifi which was an issue for me as I was here on business. A TV in the bar would've been nice or in the snook off reception.
