Location is a short walk from the railway station (along flat streets), room size was ample, comfortable bed, quiet street. It was simple to walk to the historic center of town.
No wifi, no electrical outlet so I could not recharge my cell phone.
The staff was very rude, rooms smile funny..
value for money met my basic accommodation needs
Comfy Bed Clean Sheets and Spacious room. Decent TV Cupboard for Clothes Small Table
Staff were abrupt, not rude, but almost agressive sounding Abrupt wake up, staff knocking on door to check out at 10am Check out times and check in times are ridiculous. Did not have breakfast, due to its unwelcoming atmosphere. reception desk over looks the dining tables in the same room. Poor Planning Reminds me more of a half way house than a B&B.
Location, cleanliness, and value.
Friendly staff, nice breakfast :)
A bit long walk to city centre
My son and I had a lovely stay.We had a warm welcome and we stay in a spacious clean comfortable room. The breakfast was excellent and we were looked after by two wonderful ladies who perpared and served our food. The service was excellent. We will definitely be going back.
We loved it all.
It was clean! Always a risk with small B&Bs. Room was a decent size had a sink with over head light and shaver / Electric toothbrush plug. I stayed in a single room. And was offered breakfast (option of toast, bacon, eggs or cereal) even though my room didn't include that option. Shower was nice and neat. Separate toilets although kept clean .
It wasn't made clear there were I male and female toilets. Ended up using the men's with a large fecal smear someone had kindly left. Other than that it was a pleasant experience.
Breakfast was good and the old mum waitress friendly
The room wasn't cozy. I wanted to work but there was no reading table. Bathroom was far from bedroom etc
We liked the location which was close to the University of Leicester as we were there for graduation ceremonies and we could walk to everything. We liked the large room. Though the manager was a short-term substitute, he was helpful and friendly. The beds were sufficiently comfortable.
We didn't like the mold in the shower stall. We didn't like the fact that we had to go to the breakfast room downstairs to use the wifi. The room was stuffy and hot during the day and the windows rattled with every breeze. A painter was painting the hallway walls as we carried our luggage into the room and though we tried to be careful, paint smudged my sweater.
Over charged for use of bunk bed
Very good location. 5 minutes walk to railway station and 5-7 minutes walk to victoriya park. Very friendky staff.
It is for one night stay only. Not recommended for families. Shared bathrooms and toilets. No towels.
Location was quite good although not central to town it was near station. Staff were friendly and tried to be helpful but language was difficult to understand.
Shared bathroom down corridor where you cant even use the bath! So basically a toilet and sink with a sad looking mop in corner. No towels provided not even paper towels No kettle in room, no glasses or cups - had to get paper ones from Tescos down the road to drink our wine! Tiny mirror - no full length one. Had to guess what outfit looked like for the party we had travelled up for. Basically it was a bed in a room for £45 - not that cheap for the Midlands. Breakfast finished at 9 - even on a Sunday. Room was on top floor - maybe other rooms a bit better - dont know.
the location was great only 10 min from train station it was clean and good for the price
breakfast wasn't great, basic accom', shared room toilets not working, dirty showers, a bit scruffy & unkempt generally - BUT that's reflected in the price & was overall perfectly adequate for our needs of a cheap well located place to crash out after a late night.
Cozy and comfortable room, clean and spacious shower. Good breakfast.
friendly, helpful landlady - made me evening coffee for free. close to rail station. interesting picture gallery in lounge. close to Victoria Park which has open air exercise machines. wifi in rooms
poor breakfast if you don't want the cooked option. two basic cereal choices. milk had an unusual taste. no pot of tea, just a cup. no tea and coffee in room.
Location is fabulous. Short walk into town. Room was clean and quiet. Friendly staff. A £10 deposit is required for a key to the external door, so I asked for a receipt for my £10 and was refused. I (firmly) insisted and was offered the key without a deposit! Probably something lost in translation!
The £10 deposit for the external door key should probably be advertised better as it was a (minor) surprise to me.
The staff were incredibly friendly, chatty and welcoming. It was a pleasant change to be warmly and genuinely welcomed by them. I came to see the Kasabian gig in Victoria Park (with my 13yr old). My brother and 4 friends were meeting us and they forgot the tickets!!! The hotel were more than happy to allow me to use their computer to reprint the tickets, and they even refused a donation towards cost of printing and inks. Without this generosity the whole evening would have been ruined beyond repair. Thank you Grafton Hotel. x
Location fantastic Room tidy Value
Seperate shower and toilet meant wouldn't like to stop more than one night. Unsure if all rooms in hotel are like this. Breakfast ended too early 7.00 - 8.30.
The overall experience was good given the low cost and short notice given to secure the room. I was passing through and only needed a basic room and that's what I got for 35 pounds through an online web site, although it was a little amusong to see at reception that tbe same room was available for 22. They didn't know how to cope with a vegetarian at breakfast so they just left out all the meats from a traditional breakfast leaving me with 2 friend eggs, barely a table spoon of beans and a sl8ce of toast for breakfast. Again, at that price, I can't complain. Parking is on-street only and may be a problem u lezs you wake up and get away before you get a ticket, else not sure if there are local car parks but always a space somewhere, just not in fro t of the hotel.
I was refused breakfast 10 mins late and I locked myself out going to the toilet even when I latched the door
This is my second visit and I found everything as it is The staff were very kind and cooperative
wifi reception was poor in my room
Staff were fairly helpful. Cleean sheets and bed Lady serving breakfast in her cleaning dust coat. Reasonable quiet in the night
1, No full length mirror in bedroom 2. No bedside lamp 3. Pillows too few. Could have used a couple more 4. We were promised when we called. Parking was difficult to find 5. Kettle and coffe/tea in the room. 6. A chilled jug of water 7. Little fridge for drinks and milk 8. Clear signs for Fire Exits 9. A fan 10. Larger towels
