On the second day of our stay our bed was not made up. The first time I have experienced this after staying in many hotels. Did not complain as all the staff we met were so pleasant. |

The personal service and food are great. Staff are very helpful and the location is very quiet. My room overlooked the courtyard which is used by guests for sitting outside in warm weather which can be until quite late. The hotel are happy to move people in doors at a reasonable time. |

Exploring Durham, particularly the Cathedral. Not having to use the car; being able to walk to the theatre. |

The hotel was very clean and attractive. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was good, although not as large as some I have enjoyed! (Enough for us, though!!) Not really - perhaps a menu could be on show (or did I miss this?) so we know that we could get an evening meal, and perhaps some newspapers in the lounge each morning? |

Small, warm & comfotable with attentive & very helpful staff - particularly the 2 young females who coped well during staff illness. Ideally situated for a short, if hilly, walk into the city centre. Good chef. Staffing problems on day of arrival; restaurant closed. Would have liked chairs in room; some light bulbs not working. |

Very very helpful staff, beautifully decorated hotel, lovely location. Fantastic shower. Nice restaurant meal. We were made to feel very welcome. Room was a bit cramped for the money charged for it. Loose tea bags in the welcome tray is a bit off putting - most hotels supply wrapped tea bags. Fresh milk in the fridge is a nice touch. Found the heating system confusing; would have found written instructions useful. I wasn't sure if the dial I was turning was actually going to do anything to the room temperature. |

The hotel is only recently opened and has been decorated very stylishly. Insufficient attention has been paid to the details (e.g.dirty bathrobe left hanging in wardrobe) and the hotel generally was not of the standard I associate with a luxury hotel. |

Pleasant surroundings, well designed dining room, excellent breakfast Our room was stiflingly hot - small window which was open when we arrived did nothing to alleviate the heat. |

The Three Horseshoes, situated within easy reach of the beautiful city of Durham, is a comfortable Old Country Inn with a well- stocked cellar, good food and first-class accommodation. |
