Staff, and the fact that for a single room it was better than most.Breakfast was great. Shower took a while to heat up but was fine when it did. I need to learn patience!

Very welcoming and friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us, relaxed atmosphere, friendly locals in the bar, great quality traditional food, well positioned for travelling around the Border country. Perfect for our trip down memory lane!

Everything. Three stars on booking two stars on their door. Mis sold! Pillow cases dirty, room decor shabby, staff non welcoming. Noisy, banging doors. Overall a total zero. We checked out didn't stay.

Polite staff. Clean room. Good value. Noise from the smokers at back part of the pub (covered area) went on until midnight - fortunately earplugs eventually aided sleep. Take earplugs!!!

We were on the 2nd floor and I was dreading the smell of the cooking grease following us, but thankfully our room didnt smell. As one enters the hotel the smell of cooking grease from the kitchens hits you, it's horrible. Down stairs in the reception and bar area, the hotel is dirty, smelly and very dated.

General level of comfort and cleanliness. Also, the spaciousness of our room. We were too hot and couldn't open windows or reduce the weight/heat of our sleeping covers.
