It is well situated for alomst anything in Southampton. As a hotel to link to a cruise departing from Southapmton it is just ideal and has the requisite standards to make it feel part of the holiday

As we were travelling asx a group of friends it was very nice to eat ands drink at a leisurly pace and not feel pressured into giving up our table. The decor in the rooms was a little dated and worn but this did not interfer with our stay.

The view The room i booked via online was not what i recieved and had to pay extra on arrival. Walking through the corridors at 3am breakfast trays were everywhere! My room hadnt been dusted or hoovered and the bed springs were horrible and loud/uncomfortable. And on opening the huge window the hinges gave way and nearly crashed through mine and my partners heads! First stay at De Vere a 21st birthday gift from my parents as they thought this was the best in southampton, Overall very dissapointing and will never stay again!

Good location, nice hotel and food. Staff were not very friendly. We got charged twice for our stay by mistake, resulting in us having to contact our bank and the hotel. We were unaware that we would have to pay £10 car parking on check out which we were not happy about as had queried this on a arrival and were told that we would not have to pay car parking.

Bed was very comfortable. Location was excellent for us visiting the port, and also to go shopping. 1) They brought ice cream to the room at 3pm. This seemed a very strange thing to do and the ice cream was an extremely poor quality 2) We booked online and upon arrival, asked if it would be possible to have a room facing the docks. We were told it would be OK but only if we paid an extra 320. 3) The hotel is in a bit of a bad state of repair. The button panel on the lifts are loose and the shower was very poor.

The staff were outstanding. We arrived to find a smokey room on a non smoking floor and were immediately upgraded. Staff on hand to open the door and offer to carry shopping bags. Waiting staff excellent too. My steak was not quite right and there was an apology and a complimentary drink.

Location 1. When I rang reception I gave up waiting for a response and went to desk from my room. 2. Lifts were useless. One was out of service. Other was so slow to come to floor I carried my bags down stairs. There are not enough lifts. 3. Whole hotel looks tired and needs a refurb.

We love the Grand Harbour, we have stayed several times, this time we did have a problem with the shower, but it was soon sorted, but did recur, I think it needed more investigation. Food was fantastic, I had turbot on one evening , beautiful, service was excellent as usual, and the conceierge helped with a booking to the Isle of Wight.Altogether a lovely couple of days for us as we have been very busy, We will definately be back again sometime Thank you Grand Harbour

pleasant sitting area in atrium and patio We arrived at the hotel to find they had no trace of our booking made through booking.com. Fortunately they had a room available and they did honour the price we had been quoted but if I hadn't printed off a copy of my booking we would have been charged much more and could have ended up with nowhere to stay. We only stayed one night and as my husband is disabled we dinned in the hotel but it was very pricey. However the worst of all was the cost of wine. At £8 - £11 per glass this was a complete rip off. We felt it would be better value for money having a bottle of wine instead of a glass but had to pay £27 for a bottle of wine which could be bought in a supermarket for around £7.

It was an excellent position for us to pick up our cruise and to see around Southampton. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the service very good. Some of the rooms are a little tired looking and could do with a refurb but they were clean and comfortable. The rest of the hotel is lovely and had a lovely outside area to have drinks or a snack. The staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Parking is in a carpark next to the hotel although you can pull up outside the main doors to leave your luggage. It is very near the cruise terminal and made it so simple for us to park at the west quay cruise terminal car park. Would definitely stay again. Didn't use the spa but it looked lovely.

As we were only there for one night we did not have a chance to use the facilities. We would have no hesitation in booking the de vere grand harbour in the future. We were impressed with the friendliness and cleanliness and would havens hesitation in recommending the Grand Harbour.
