The staff were extremely polite, and I appreciated the ability to make tea/coffee. We were given a family room as I was staying with my adult daughter, which was particularly kind. We didn't have time to use the conservatory but it looked very relaxing.
Not really a negative, but we would have benefited from another bedside light
Quality of food not up to standard. The place is crying out for a refurbishment.
Receptionist was miserable and made us feel very unwelcome. There was a big hole in the ceiling of our bathroom. Breakfast was of a very poor standard.
Good beds tidy nice staff defo go again
After a series of bad customer service incidents we had our stay gratus.
Very friendly helpful staff. Great room, was over the kitchen, but didn't hear, or smell a thing. Great value for money
Car park £5 Room was in different building of the hotel to where breakfast is served, ok on day of arrival as dry and sun shining .... but pouring with rain next morning ... so unfortunately got a bit wet going from the room to breakfast! Didn't spoil the stay though.
The room is facing the main road, and too noisy.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The bedding was crisp and white as were the towels. Everything needed for a short stay was provided.
The noise from the traffic due to the location of the hotel which is in the center of town.
Good location, easy check in - check out, lots of in room extras (plenty of coffee, tea, bottled water, fan, trouser press)
Older room, needs refurbishment, mattress very uncomfortable (mattress felt very old and saggy in places)
Not in a quiet room as requested. Pay extra for car parking
The location and value for money was good and the wifi signal & broadband speed excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfasts were good.
The room was very small, but just about ok. The single bed did not have a fitted sheet, there was just a loose undersheet - so a couple of turns and I found myself sleeping directly on the mattress, not ideal. The plumbing was loud and the water-pressure only just passable.
The fee for car parking
No ice machine
Quiet, yet centrally-located with access to plenty of places to eat.
Basic breakfast, low water pressure in the shower, having to pay £5 per day to use the hotel's car park.
The waiter in the morning was really nice and was very polite. Breakfasts were great and when l ask for brown bread it was there.
The room carpet was very dirty, not down to vacuum but stains and dirt. Also the room very tied many pieces of furniture where damaged, Price 3 nights £200. Parking charges £5 per day which l refused to pay.
The building was attractive and kenilworth is quite pretty.
My room was very small with a dirty toilet and cracked floor tiles in the bathroom. The traffic noise was intrusive even with the windows closed. The mug for my drinks had two large chips around the rim and there was no spoon. Generally dirty and this meant that I did not have breakfast because if the room was that poor I was unsure of the cleanliness of the kitchen. Sorry but I would not recommend this hotel at all.
Room was fine but entrance smelt like a curry house.......not good.
Good sized rooms but...
Lack of staff on arrival Had to move rooms after one night, heating could not be turned down No one to cook breakfast at 7am in morning as promised No hot water in (second) room Charged more on departure than the agreed rate (added a charge for car park) No discount given for poor experience
Noisy. Charged for car park, and no space - hence had to park on the road. Not clean.
I liked the location as it was close to Kenilworth castle (15 minutes walk) which we have been visiting. There is local Sainsbury's just a few minutes away where we bought some food for our picknick at the castle. There are also a few pubs around the hotel to go out in the evening.
Nobody was at the reception for check-in, however, I did put the time of our arrival at the time of booking. We had to wait for around 15 minutes. Apparently, the receptionist was helping with drinks at the bar. When we came to the room we realised that there is a door in the bathroom that leading to the restaurant (but it was locked of course) and we could hear the piano play from the restaurant like it was in our room. The ceiling in the bathroom was with the whole and there was mould around the cubicle. Also, the radiators didn't work at all. We asked at the reception and the lady said she will adjust the thermostat and see whether it will work or not, and it didn't. But she was good and she brought us an oil electric radiator so we were not cold at night. The view from the room was on the inner garden so it was nice. In the restaurant they didn't have all the food on the menu, it was Malaysian food and quite spicy even though I have asked to cook not too spicy. Breakfast was quite poor, not a lot of choice of cereals for my child and the sausage on the full English breakfast was not tasty. I would rate this hotel as 2 star the most.
the young lady on reception was very helpful and friendly. the rooms where large with loads of wardrobe space too. very quiet even though opposite the pup. definitely stay there again next year or when passing threw to a show. well done and thank you! also handy having the pub just up the road and a restaurant and plenty of other places to eat within walking distance. great! I loved the little quirky touches and pictures.
car park was a bit small and the front garden needed weeding that's it!
The facilities seemed a bit outdated
Location was central and had a car park.
The toilet hadn't been cleaned and didn't even flush. The décor in the room was obviously done on a minimum budget. Massive rug in the room that needed pinning down or someone is going to trip and sue them. Carpet with stains on. Décor was not finished to the standard I would expect. Wiring covered with cheap conduits. Would not even give this three stars. Breakfast in the morning - orange juice was powdered and not fresh (tasted as though it had Alka Seltza in it!) My husband asked for bacon, eggs and beans and was presented with three very over fried eggs(squashed on both sides) piled onto the plate with bacon. Not very appetizing. The TV was blaring away with football on and the staff from the local Indian restaurant were having their breakfasts in the dining room along with the guests. This hotel was a reminder of the Spanish hotels in the 1960's. Will not be going again. Staff were friendly though.
I was with two grandchildren, one 11 and one 6 and we were given a room with three beds which was very comfortable and clean. The bar and breakfast staff served us charmingly and the children eat well.
